I know it's winter but is there anywhere in foco to really shred mtb?

Moving to Fort Collins in February trying to get the upper hand on mtb season

There's tons of singletrack nearby. Horsetooth mountain park, Lory state park, Blue Sky which runs down to Loveland and connects with several trails, stuff along the Poudre River like Hewlett Gulch and more.

Trails closest to town are your best bet this time of year. i know some of them close due to mud even when snow is not on the ground. That said, DrHotmann has a good list. Add Coyote Ridge and Bobcat Ridge

Ya. Horsetooth mountain park, devils backbone, most trails on the foothills close to the horsetooth lake.

Then there's also some great trails if you head west along the poudre river. I love hewletts gulch because its off leash dog trail. So my dog just chases me as I ride it.

Although I don't know about the winter season as far as access goes.

Blue sky has the most dry days per year. If its sunny and 40s for a week or 2 its probably rideable. Check out the singletracker webapp for up to date (sometimes) conditions. It's a $135 ticket for riding trails when they're closed so don't do it. And even if they are technically open its a swift kick to the junk from me and everybody else in town if you ride them when they're muddy. yourgroupride.com is the best source of local riding info.
