FNAF2: Prequel or Sequel? Unanswered Questions

So we as a fanbase have been debating a little about whether the second game is a sequel or a prequel. While prequel seems to be the case, there are... unanswered questions for each...

If FNAF 2 is a Prequel:

• Why are the "old" animatronics from the first game disrepaired?

• If the animatronics were repaired to open the FNAF1 location, why not clean them?

• Why are the animatronics acting up in the first place if not haunted?

• What happened to BB and the Marionette?

• What happened to Jeremy and Fitz? Surely they wouldve reported the strange animatronics.

If FNAF2 is a Sequel:

• Why is Phone Guy alive?
• Why does Jeremy's Check say 1987?
• What other incidents are taking place as Phone Guy refers to them?
• Why are the New animatronics acting up if the spirits are still haunting the old ones?
