Is Oregon the Vermont of the west coast?

Hey folks. I'm a native Vermonter, but I'm planning on moving to the west coast in a few years so my wife can live closer to her family. I've always enjoyed the Vermont lifestyle. We have a pretty laid back attitude over here, we're pretty liberal, and appreciate quality of life over economic growth. The environment is beautiful and the people are just weird enough to keep things interesting. From what I can tell, the people of Oregon share many of these characteristics with us.

So for anybody who has lived in both states, is Oregon the Vermont of the west coast or are both places completely different? If so, how are they different? Thank you!
