Copper Vanilla (clone) Venting Questions. And Copper Penny (clone) Insulator Question.

Hey fellow vapers! I've been looking into getting another couple of mods (which I absolutely don't need) but look pretty damn sexy. And everyone can use more copper! :) My question is: is the venting on the copper vanilla mod clones decent? I know the vent holes are under the negative delrin piece (which was my main concern) but it seems like there might be a little less than a millimeter around the negative pin where the gas could escape potentially, however I have no idea and can't find much solid testimonial that has given me piece of mind on the venting. I know this mod is pretty "popular" and figured the venting is probably on par if so many people own and love it, but I just wanted to check with the Reddit Gurus on how good/bad it is/how it works before drilling the holes out myself or just passing on the mod because of the "questionable" venting.

While I'm already writing a question... for those of you who know about the copper penny clone (and similar mods), I was also curious how the switch doesn't have an insulator (venting on this one looks much better) but constantly makes contact (it seems) with both contacts. It seems like it would be autofiring all the time if there were no botom insulator - any insight into this would be MUCH appreciated. I haven't been able to get a solid answer yet for either of these questions. Any help is appreciated, fellow vapers!

Cheers!

Drill a hole in it if it that big of a concern. Problem solved!

I mean that's plan B, but if someone could simply explain the venting or educate me somewhat in how it works that's kind of what I'm looking for. Instead of buying it, looking at the air holes/measuring them, going to Home depot, spending more money on drill bits i'll need maybe once, drilling it out, shaving it down, then vaping, I'd rather just understand how it works/ be educated on it. I'm in the home stretch of graduating college and I'd rather be working on my thesis than spending time with all of that. I'm simply asking how the venting works/ if it is decent, as well as the simple question with the Penny mod, no need for the condescending comments :)

I have a penny mod clone. It has a white insulator at the bottom that the button pin comes up through. My biggest problem with it is it's tendency to seize on the bottom and lock ring making it damn near impossible to unscrew by hand. I'm assuming I just don't clean it enough tho. As for the venting, I don't worry about it, but it's a justifiable concern. I'd probably drill the two vent holes a bit bigger if I was tho.

At least that one has vent holes on the outside - that's plenty good for me. Ty for the locking ring tip too. I was wondering if it seized a lot or not, but I'm sure it's something I could get used to/ work around. As long as there's some way for the battery to vent, I have piece of mind, especially with the Vanilla. Tyvm for your comment though! Any insight/education about these 2 mods are much welcomed!

No problem. We're all here to learn. As for the lock ring seizing, the owner of my local B&M says that's a problem with any copper lock rings because of the corrosion, aka patina.

May I ask why you're so concerned with venting? If you build safely, and don't act like a moron, then either should be fine, because venting should be the last thing on your mind :)

I'm concerned because if something shorts or there's a problem with the battery, I don't want to be holding a pipe bomb. I've had mods with good venting get a little warm, and without venting the pressure would just build up from the battery naturally releasing a small amount of emission, which concerns me (that's why the venting exists I'm pretty sure..) I have no worries with building correctly/ pulling too many amps or anything, I just want the safety option there if I need it - better safe than sorry imo when it comes to mechs. We all know some batteries (even VTC5's) have random meltdowns due to the nature of imperfection (even with quality control). Just a few questions, not trying to start a debate about it :D
