You think not having Borini was close to being a comparable factor to anything else? Really? Try having Sturridge unable to play a single CL game, Balo being injured since the international break, and generally poor form in the team.
So is your stance that you're fine with this political move from Rodgers?
I said factor mate - there are multiple factors regarding our performances as of late - I mentioned a few and you just mentioned some, read the fucking text.
I just think that if we let Borini start instead of Lambert who had played what, 5 or 6 full games straight at his age? Then we wouldn't have used a substitution on him, plus we all know he's an engine who runs and works.
I really don't think Borini has the quality to make much of a difference in this team right now. His best performances at Sunderland came on the wing anyway, he's not a good striker against a team who is away and looking to sit a bit deeper. Sure if we were on the counter attack we might want him running in behind but as is I don't think his link up play is better than Lambert's at all (Lambert has a much better history of assists). Had we played him the criticism would've been that Lambert has looked dangerous in prior games and has a run of goals, why should we take him off for a player who is not at a top level either?
