What's holding Pc gaming back? Low specs Pcs or consoles?
IMHO people with low spec pcs are just as much of a peasant as console gamers

PCs with low specs does not responsible for horrible ports, exclusives, used games and shitty controls and UI in video games.
didn't need to say anything more BUT on a side note IMHO people with low spec pcs are just as much of a peasant as console gamers they at least can play Indies and they can upgrade their system when they ahev the cash for it with other word they aren't as ignorant PS a console gamer != peasant ( a peasant is someone who ignores the facts(aka pc superior,...))
True.
Low end PCs does not slows the progression. The market is filled with a lot of mid to low end PCs but we can see games or apps that can really push the high end hardware. The progression of PC hardware right now is actually fast and it is impossible to keep up to date. It has nothing to do with low end PC.
Consoles
Back when the SNES/N64/PSX came out, it was a different time. Now, it may seem that consoles are to thank for graphical fidelity making leaps every eight years, but they're not. The reason gaming takes a leap forward every time a new generation of consoles come out is because they're what was holding it back in the first place. Think about it: 70% of the target audience of any given game will have to be playable on continuously aging console hardware. That means that the developers have to make sure that their game will run on said machines, with or without the features they desire. Many of their ideas and features they could have implemented are thrown out the window because the hardware simply can't handle it. As a result, the developers are forced to sell a stripped-down product. Of course, PC users will most often get a better product if the same title lands in their hands, but it's never exactly what the developer originally expected. In some rare cases, the PC port is terrible... but only because the developers are unable to allocate as much time and money to the PC branch of the project. There's a line they have to draw somewhere in between the capabilities of the console and the capabilities of the PC. A fine example of this would be Crysis, a game which launched on consoles four years after it was released on PC. There have been occasional instances where the developer will rebuild the game (graphically) from scratch to make sure that the PC version fulfills their vision, but even that is rare. So... the less people that are purchasing consoles, the less of a stranglehold Microsoft and Sony will have on the industry. The more people that are on PC, the more wiggle room the developers have to make their game the best it can be. If you enjoy seeing games get better, go with a PC.
You don't need a top-of-the-line gaming PC to be a member of the Master Race. You just have to recognize that PC is objectively superior to consoles in every way possible as explained here!
Might want to read the sidebar before saying dumb things like that. They are peasants not because they affect your gaming (Which they don't it's the publishers), but rather because they refuse to accept facts.
Honestly, drop the "I have better stuff than you, hence you're lower than me" attitude. Being smug just because you can afford better gear doesn't make you better, it just makes you an ass.

At least people with "low" spec PC's have the option to upgrade at anytime they can afford to instead of being locked into a sanbox console marketplace for 8-0 years with the same hardware that punishes them should they decide to make an upgrade when not doing a full replacement with the "next-gen".

I take offense to that, as a brother who has been trapped on a 4 year-old laptop and shudder a Mac computer for years. Perhaps you should read the sidebar as u/drakelon91 said.
What's holding them back are publishers who prefer making a shitty port instead of optimizing their games for the pc. And no, everyone accepting pc as superior is part of the master race.
Great reply.
OPs humble opinion, is great for him but adds zero to our views here. Optimization is key, if you develop a PC game it needs to have 3 things in line:
Resolution, graphics options fine tuned so that everyone can play it.
Optimized to run on a GPU, APU and laptop cards ("we can't guarantee this will run a laptop GPUs" is one of the shittiest things we see around).
Future Proofing, make sure the game has options to stand the test of time. (Witcher 2 is a great example for this).
If it lacks this basic substance, then the publisher/developer is wrong NOT the user base that is bound to a budget.
