Ideas for a short term spy...
I started playing Ingress this July but due to a variety of factors I slowly stopped and forgot about it. Two weeks ago a buddy of mine in real life told me about it, and I said, "Yeah, I was playing that, cool, let's play together."
And of course I chose blue, he's on green. At this point he was level 6 and I only got to 2 so I requested a faction change and started the 6 week timer. I played my ass off for the last two weeks and actually converted my entire town to blue and because of me blue is kicking major butt this cycle. I was number 1 for days and have now finally slipped to 4 because there is nothing to do within 5 miles of my house.
Fast forward to now, everyone in both factions knows I'm changing, I've met a handful of people on both sides (all super nice) but the admin of the google group has deemed me a security threat and booted me so I'm feeling 100% dejected and a little bit pissed.
My plan was to work hard for blue until the very last second, then team up with my buddy and turn the town back to green, but since my current team cannot accept this I have decided there is no reason to help them.
I'm not 100% sure I'm committed to doing anything actively to hurt them, I'm damn sure not going to be recharging anything and any neutrals I may find are going to get a heaping helping of L1 resonators, but just for fun are there any clever ways I can undermine blue in my area? I'm looking for fun/funny ideas, something that will get attention more than just give green more points. I've still got 4 weeks to go until I'm on green, and I've been having a blast attacking portals and hacking all around my town. The thought of shutting Ingress down for 4 weeks is pretty horrible, I want some activities to keep me busy, but don't help blue whatsoever.
And if this is like way out of line to even talk about it, just say so and I'll cancel all such plans immediately. Thanks in advance.

Looks like you have a choice to make. Either you can play like a dick before your change to insure blue hates you, or you can take the more honorable route and not try to fuck shit up. You still have to play with the blue in the area even as an enemy, but your conduct before the change will make a big difference in how much they target you specifically when you turn green.
To not be a dick, just play the game like you would if you didn't know anyone. Capture, link, and field. If you want to refrain from destroying green portals, that seems reasonable to me.
To be a dick, shoot links in a way that it makes it very difficult to do anything productive in your area and make sure you keep those links alive by recharging portals.
Jarvis portals. You're going to lose your inventory anyway, so use it.
Take out guardians. Jarvising them gets bonus dick points here.
Well no I don't have a choice to make. I am just looking for ways to let blue know I'm still in the area, that I'm still active, but that it's 100% obvious that they no longer benefit from my pursuits. I don't want to hurt them, I just want them to see my name show up in alerts a lot but for things that don't help them.
My problem is I have no idea what actions I can take to make that a reality, and likely there are none available.
I'm damn sure not going to redo the links in any terrible way, and as I said to someone else, the town is locked down. I busted my butt these last 7 days and created some awesome fields. Now, I know I'm not going to recharge them for the next 7 days, I doubt the other blues in the area will neglect them. I guess we'll see how things look next week, and then maybe formulate a plan.
Whatever you do as blue is going to benefit blue unless you do dick moves. I don't really understand what you want to do. Anything "clever" to undermine them right now that shows up in the comm is going to hurt them, and doing those things requires that you be a dick.
Again, the question is, do you want to go out as a dick or just become a traitor gracefully?
I don't want to be a dick, so it sounds like there is nothing I can do. I think I will just slow down my pace then. I'll keep hacking, maybe I'll actually get with my friend and help him swap portals back and forth to level him up faster. He has been talking about that for a while, but I never felt comfortable with that.
If the answer is nothing, then the answer is nothing, I'll just back off on the game until I'm on green.
Definitely don't do the swapping thing. That's actually against the rules. They call it "win trading". It seems they only allow that at events or anomalies :P
