Do I really need TAILS? I can't get it to connect to my internet and I'm finding the whole thing a pain in the arse quite honestly!

I'm wondering if I actually need TAILS as a small time buyer. Is it not safe enough that I browse using Tor through a VPN, use PGP, encrypt everything, tumble my BTC & store them in Armory software wallet? Is it worth having 2 wallets, one disassociated from my true ID? How would that work?: bank > localbitcoins > online wallet > tumble > offline wallet ...?

Any help/advice is welcome
