PSA: BUY SOME EAR PLUGS!!!! Or forever never hear music again!

Ok, I'm pretty sure lsdryn2 covers this in his guide, but I just want to make it known to everyone just a little more.

BUY EAR PLUGS

This is what most people get, they are good

This is what I own

Others are suggesting the Downbeats So try those out too!

I recommend either of those.

But seriously people,

Duration per day, hoursSound level dBA exposure
890
692
495
397
2100
1.5102
1105
.5110
.25 or less115

This is per OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration)

Festivals with today's sound tech can reach 110 dB or higher. This chart says you arent' supposed to be exposed to that for more then a half hour, and you are doing it for 6+.

That means you WILL lose some hearing. If you are near the front of the stage, god help your ears. Some will say "I've been to hundreds of concerts and fests, my ears are fine and I didn't wear plugs!" <-- That person is an idiot.

Permanent hearing loss is a thing, I have some as long as with Tinnitus (That ringing in your ears after loud music? It is a sign you ears were damaged. I have it permanently. I've been to 1 fest and a handful of indoor shows).

Buy plugs, mine reduce up to 20db so that 110db stage becomes 90 which is safe for 8 hours. Also OSHA says you need at least a day rest before you are allowed to re expose your ears to the same level of pounding. but most of us will be doing this for 4 days straight.

SO DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, SAVE YOUR EARS SO YOU CAN HEAR YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC FOR DECADES TO COME

This has been a friendly PSA for all coming to the fest :) Oh, and if you go to other shows too. Indoors can get louder then outdoors (DAMN YOU ELEKTRICITY IN PONTIAC MI)

EDIT: Added the downbeats
