They asked him politely not to use it in the next qualifier. If he does, he will be sent a strongly worded letter. After the 3rd offense he will be asked in person if he minds giving up his spot in the tournament, and given a free 6 month WoW subscription as compensation for the inconvenience.

It's a joke that he was able to participate period. I'm sure this guy has been reported for hacking 1000 times yet here he is participating in a qualifier for Blizzards prestigious WCS.
SC2 is in such a sad state, it physically hurts too see the lack of care Blizzard has for it :(

It's very hard to prove 100% that someone is maphacking unless they are dumb enough to look at you through the dog of war. Just looking at the production tab and seeing you army movwent on the minimap is enough to give a huge advantage

Demuslim just posted a reply with a screenshot. I don't know about you but at that level of play, I would say 100% confirmed map hacker with no vision on the map.

thats the thing about hackers. they lose if you don't make mistakes because they are naturally worse players because they aren't challenged as hard to play to the best of their ability because they always play with an enourmous handicap
so they're bad and anyone who hacks will never make it to the tip top, though they don't really want to, people just hack to get a higher league to brag to their online friends because they have no one else to talk to which is the reason they resort to hacking in an attempt to gain some sort of friendship but really they just push everyone away with their sickness its quite sad, really.

Tournaments should make some kind of software that take random screenshots of the game while in play, software that you have to run while in game.

Well, then the hackers will implement a feature that turns off hacks for a second during that screenshot. For every measure there'll be a counter measure.
The problem is, when Blizzard introduced an anti-cheat measure in WoW that actually had the potential to work, everybody raged because it was a big invasion into people's privacy.

Yeah man, agreed. I think the difference is that the games that use Punkbuster were always very transparent about using it whereas Blizzard tried to sneak their solution in with a EULA update.

Wanting more info about an accusation is perfectly acceptable, especially for an accusation such as this. While more info was posted, you cannot expect people to take the word of just 1 person for map hacking. It seems very, very likely that map hacking was involved, but without the info posted it would be impossible to be sure.

Well this title is incorrect.
I won vs a player in the WCS qualifier and during the games noticed a few things were "odd", specifically his unit movements. Given that maphack is on the rise recently and a pretty darn big deal if it used in competitive play (And gotten away with) this could ruin a lot of peoples chances in the qualifiers.
I sent the replay to a couple of players to go over to see if they felt if anything was off. This protoss was in the top 100 GM, with a 130-90 record, which for ladder standards is quite impressive. That being said -- for a protoss at GM level to go through an entire game having blink stalkers in correct positions, army movement being insanely weird and looking at my base through fog of war even only momentarily makes me question whether this player was legit or not.
Also, his ESL account was made on the 16th December, 2014 -- Right before the WCS qualifiers.

I've not seen a protoss 15 minutes into the game with this kind of vision, and with not 1 observer on the map to boot.

The opponent (Protoss player) in the screenshot did not scout the map at all. It looks like they didn't even probe scout outside of their base one bit. No one playing the game at a high level has zero map vision at 15 minutes into the game. There is no way in hell someone can play at that level with zero knowledge of what your opponent is doing and still have a fighting chance. According to Demuslim he also had his blink Stalkers in correct positions throughout the entire game. Without scouting or observers there is no way you can just blindly do that.

Hard to discern sarcasm through text sometimes, but if not, he's saying the protoss just sat back inside his own base and never scouted or anything.
It could definitely just be some newbie who just decided to turtle though (a replay/video would be nice to corroborate)

He should have gone over to the base fog of war with a probe selected and clicked a few waypoints there. Then he'd only look stupid rather than suspicious.
For rigor, you should actually send them a set of a few replays in which you either put the suspect game or not. Do not tell them which game you believe to contain the hacker. Then ask them to tell if any game seems fishy to them. This way you remove some of the inherent bias people have towards agreeing with you. I mean, just asking them to look for hacks will have them believe that there is a good chance that there is a hacker. They know that you're no fool and wouldn't ask this of them otherwise.
Anyway, this is probably way too much work for both yourself and the other players as this shouldn't remotely be your responsibility, but I've been having methodology on my mind lately.
This game is so obvious that there would be no point in sending in dummy replays.
Assuming "odd" things and immediately accusing someone of cheating is pretty bold.
