[Meta] DAE always assume that the "other" person in hostile verysmart exchanges is the person who posted it here?
I'm probably not wrong, either.

It mostly just reminds me why I don't have a Facebook account :)
Yup. I am nearly one year clean.
It's actually improved my social life rather than being cut off like I feared I would. Plus I've got a shit-tonne more things to talk about with my friends when I do meet them because I haven't already told them via FB.
Probably. I sometimes think about responding to verysmart® people just to get them to say something stupid that I can post on reddit for internet points.
Everything I do, I do for internet points.
Wasn't there a circlejerk meme of "Bravery level: a few seconds ago" back during the r/atheism-default days? Posting how clever you are is a reddit tradition.
I don't know too much about that (fairly new to reddit) but I promise the irony is not lost on me.
i feel like a lot of these types of subs are like that...
I would submit myself but I'm afraid of the paradoxes that could come from such an act. Real ISMETA shit.
since you actually have a stupid-high IQ and you appear humble, I'd say you're not verysmart, you're just a geeniass
FUCK YEAH I'M HUMBLE. I'M THE MOST HUMBLE. WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU, GUY?
Most people seem to have a need to let you know what they think of you, so I'd expect them to signal. If they don't signal, then I wouldn't assume it was them, no.
I usually get suspicious when the submission doesn't really seem to fit here. For example, if the subject of the post is argumentative but without any notable pretensions to intelligence, I assume that OP posted the exchange because (s)he was the one the subject was arguing with.
