Looking to pickup a 60" Sharp Aquos+.
Hi all. As the title says, I am thinking about getting this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00HZZZM5G?vs=1 . From the specs I am looking for (60", 240hz, smart). It seems my only other options are http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-60-class-60-diag--led-1080p-smart-3d-hdtv-silver/4324008.p?id=1219097786731&skuId=4324008 and http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-60-class-59-1-2-diag--led-1080p-smart-3d-hdtv-black/3734021.p?id=1219093275439&skuId=3734021 . The Sharp sticks out for me with its upscaling and possible 4k. Any advice? Thanks for your time

Sub-pixels or not, the Sharp will not display 4k content. It's all marketing. "4K Ultra HD (2160p) content-ready Accepts a 4K Ultra HD (2160p) signal and can even play 4K Ultra HD (2160p) content via an HDMI input.". Every TV on Earth can accept a 4k signal and play 4k content. Doesn't mean that you will see 4k on the screen. It's still a 1080p television with 2 million primary pixels like every other 1080p television. It will downscale the 4k image, which every other TV will do. The sub-pixels will create a sharpness and wider color palette (which actually makes the colors look slightly over saturated) than a typical 1080p television, but don't be fooled into thinking that you will see anywhere near 4k. The contrast ratio on the SQ series is pretty bad as well.
FWIW, the Samsung 7150 is the better set with generally a better picture. Good black levels and motion handling. Or even look at the h6400 series from Samsung.
The 7150 does cost a fair bit more though.
The 7150 costs $200 more on Amazon at the 60" size that OP is looking at. That's definitely worth the difference.
Is it in sale?!? The 60" was $2k last I looked.
Thanks for the information. I will definitely consider the Samsung a bit more when I to check them out tomorrow.
