Buyers Guide to Safe Trading and Using Different Payment Methods - READ THIS OR YOU WILL BE SCAMMED!

By popular need, I've decided to quickly make a guide to NOT getting scammed trading for coins in this sub. I've seen multiple people make simply bad decisions, and hopefully this guide will help with that.

The jtc66 Guide to NOT Getting Scammed

  1. Make any user comment on your thread before he/she pm's you. This rule is here to make sure ANY users that are banned from this sub for scamming or even ridiculous things like coin hacks can't make deals with you. If they don't comment but they pm=likely scam.

  2. FOR FIRST TIMERS AND NEWER USERS-trade with highly reputable users. For any question of reputability, PM the mods! We LOVE to help!! That is the sole reason we are moderators.

  3. WANT TO BUILD A REPUTATION? Refer to r/MCSrep. There you can make a profile and post any trades in your reputation thread. If you choose to go this route, make sure EVERY trade posted is confirmed by the buyer or seller via reply.

  4. Notice any suspicious and shady activity? PM the mods! We can give a background check, and let you know if a user is reputable or not.

  5. Do increments if you are buying in bulk!! Say you buy 10 million coins. You can do 1 million, repeat 10x. This makes everything al lot more foolproof, and minimizes the coins scammed, if that were the case. Anything more than 1million can be considered bulk.

  6. Look at account age. If a scammer gets caught, and we ban them, they can make a new account, as well as pm anyone. Not all newer accounts are scammers, but this can help determine who should go first.

  7. In most cases, if trading for PayPal, send the actual funds first, using goods and services. This way, if somebody scams for the actual money, you can simply file a claim with paypal, and explain to them you never got your good. It is well worth paying the fee.

  8. The mods are here to assist with any trade. I can't stress this enough. If you want us to middleman your trade, or help anyway at all, let us know. We are here for you guys.

The u/easydub2121 Guide to Using Different Payment Methods

Payments with Amazon

Use a credit card to purchase an Amazon gift card. This can be done 2 different ways

  • Buy an amazon gift card "Instant delivery by Email" and email to the Seller. Can take 5 minutes before the email is visible and the seller can then use the "Claim code" in the email to redeem $$$

  • Buy Amazon gift card "Instant delivery by Email" and email to yourself. You will then be able to provide the seller with the "Claim code" from your email.

NOTE: Existing Amazon gift card balances (That have already been applied to an account) CANNOT be transfered. If you have an existing balance that you want to purchase with you will need to buy something the seller wants such as an Xbox/PS4 gift card from Amazon and provide code to the seller.

Payments with PayPal

PayPal payments are typicall the preffered method of payment and can be done by transfering funds from your paypal account by email address. There are 2 ways of sending your $$$ through PayPal

  • Send money "Friends and Family." This method means that no fees apply and if you send $20 the seller receives $20 without a fee. Only use this method with TRUSTED SELLERS that have alot of rep (2 or 3 deals is not alot of rep)

NOTE: It's free within the U.S. to send money to family and friends when you use only your PayPal balance or bank account, or a combination of their PayPal balance and bank account. There is a fee to send money as a personal payment using a debit card or credit card. The fee in the U.S. is 2.9% plus $0.30 USD of the amount you send. For example, if you send $100.00 USD by credit card, the fee would be $3.20 USD ($2.90 + $0.30). For personal payments, the sender can pay the fee or pass it on to the recipient. If the recipient doesn't want to pay the fee, they can choose not to accept the payment. To resolve issues with this fee link your PayPal account to your bank account.

  • Send money "Goods and Services." This method means that you will have to pay a fee to transfer the money(typically less than $1). If you choose this method it is up to the BUYER to pay the fee. It is easier to dispute a purchase if you get scammed if you choose this method. Think of paying the fee as getting insurance on your transaction.

NOTE: PayPal transactions go through immediately after payment is sent. Scammers will try and tell you that their bank has a delay or something sketchy like that. This is not true, payment should go through instantly.

Payments with iTunes

Similar to Amazon these payments can be done by using existing gift cards or purchasing gift cards for iTunes and providing the redeem code to the seller. The seller can then redeem iTunes gift card code to their account.

Payments with "Other" methods

Depending on the seller and what you're asking for in return, other forms of payment such as gift cards for pretty much anything, or any other creative methods can be used as long as the seller has a way of redeeming the value and is willing to accept that method of payment.
