350 lbs. Even on a 6'7 frame, that is morbidly obese.

Edit: This guy just got ripped on twitter. Definitely not a brigade from here, though. Dudes doxxing and finding pics of his kids and stuff. Jesus. Good reason to never use twitter. Crazy people overreacting everywhere.

Guess he wasn’t so tough after all... He probably has PTSD now.

fluttersoshy•

i missed it.

DBuckFactory•

The guy deleted his account. It was an absolutely ridiculous reaction. Yeah, the guy sounds like a neckbeard, but damn. Everyone went in on him, saying that he was going to be causing violence at this event. he never even got picked. They are attacking the lady above him on this image, asking her to speak out on behalf of him. It's utterly ridiculous.

Wants to crack skulls; Gets scared off by internet trolls.

16
DBuckFactory•

Honestly, internet brigades are pretty scary. These psychos will try to ruin someone's life for petty bullshit.

6
Shledge•

I would agree he's the typical white knight knobhead, and potential threats of violence if picked is stupid, but doxing should never be done.

At this point, I'm convinced the pro/anti GG crowds are as bad as each other. Too toxic to have any sort of normal discussion.

CatDad69•

An overreaction? On Twitter? I AM SHOCKED

2
DBuckFactory•

There's calling someone names and then there's digging into someone's family history and finding where they live. Levels of crazy....

1
TheBlueEdition•

That's actually a man.

2
DBuckFactory•

I do the whole "call people by the gender they identify as" thing. Might not be your cup of tea, but it's respectful.

1
Metal_Guitarist•

That's nuts. It looked like a kinda cringey tweet but nothing to really get upset about, obviously

They are attacking the lady above him on this image, asking her to speak out on behalf of him.

The reason for that is because every time a troll threatens her with violence, she claims that kind of behavior was normal among the gamergate guys and asks them to answer for it.

1
Correctrix•

People shouldn't dox. But put this in context. Wu uses anything approaching this sort of threat in order to control the narrative, demonise entire classes of people, etc. Then someone on her side makes a threat of violence and there is zero tolerance of it.

3
DBuckFactory•

It wasn't really a threat, though. He said that he wished he could be there, which means he won't be there. Then he said he'd love to crack some gg skulls, which just means he wants to. It's a stupid wannabe-tough-guy thing to say, but it wasn't ever a credible threat. People overreacted and went nuts over nothing. The guy is a cringeworthy neckbeard idiot, but that got out of hand really fast.

2
effortlessgrace•

350 lbs. Even on a 6'7 frame, that is morbidly obese.

Yeah, I was thinking to myself that even the largest, most athletic men on a goddamn football team are still around 30 pounds lighter than that. And they look like this.

3
Beldam•

Yup. My ex fiancée is 6'5", and he passed three bucks while I was still with him. At the time I weighed about 100, so he was three of me. And it looked really bad. He had gained 25 pounds pretty quick, was noticeably heavy a 275, and I was not interested to see him reach 325-350, I heard he topped out at 350. I didn't dump him for being overweight. I dumped him for sleeping with my best friend.

There's plenty to find abhorrent about Wu that isn't her gender situation.

Although reading about Pre-Op College Wu was a wild ride.

Where did you read about it?

1
AustNerevar•

Seriously?? Can we cut this bullshit out already. Transgenderism is a real thing no matter how much you want it not to be. It isn't like that otherkin nonsense.

1
RockTurgidson•

You're right. That comment was foolish and dismissive on my part, and speaks to the fact that I still have growing to do as a person. I apologize.

1
AustNerevar•

Well, this made me smile. More often than not, people on Reddit don't apologize for stuff like this. You're alright...but I'm still disappointment that enough people upvoted that to get it to a score of 5.

Even if you're 6'7, the only thing remotely impressive about being 350lbs is how much food you'd have to eat to be that fat

Spysix•

She needs bodyguards from all those evil 'dude gamers' that she sockpuppets.

11
The_Adventurist•

I can't wait for a year from now when nobody even remembers who the fuck Wu is. She does nothing but instigate fights on Twitter and try to bait harassment to help fund her patreon.

Stop giving her attention and she will shrivel up and disappear.

8
mcdrunkin•

If it helps any, I don't know who she is now.

7
RobotApocalypse•

She is a game dev that made a shitty iPhone game and fakes being harassed. You can continue ignoring her, she is completely irrelevant.

5
mcdrunkin•

Cool. I'll keep on keeping on.

Girls generation, or alternatively good game

1
VAPossum•

For anyone who doesn't know, the woman up there is a game developer. (And co-founder of a company, as well as a blogger and podcaster.) It's not unreasonable to consider security in that case, but she got a lot of harassment during Gamergate--as in rape and death threats--so she has good reason to hire some muscle.

However, her company has since pulled from PAX out of security concerns.

-14
RobotApocalypse•

harassment

There is plenty of reason to take all her claims with a grain of salt. Between her freaking out when asked innocuous and reasonable questions about it to actually faking at least some of it, there is plenty of reasonable doubt.

9
SpookySkeletons•

that picture, OMG. did she want to post on an alt account and forgot or is she this stupid?

3
RobotApocalypse•

Yep, she forgot to switch to a sockpuppet. It took a while for her to realize her mistake too. She did and deleted it, but not before being laughed at by commenters.

5
Masukukaja•

Holy cow, could she not brush her hair for that interview?

2
RobotApocalypse•

No idea, she didn't bother brushing her hair for MSNBC either.

I think the claims that she looks like a meth addict are mean, but they aren't inaccurate either...

2
hivemind_MVGC•

Well, I mean... she's a dude after all.

1
sway_usa•

She looks like Michael McDonald from MadTV

1
VAPossum•

Yeah, I don't know anything about her one way or the other, but still, when you get death threats and your home address is out on the internet, it's understandable to be scared.

I'd rather not watch the whole 25 minute video right now, but I'd like to see the reaction you're talking about. Can you give me an idea of where it is? (Front, middle, end, will help.)

^^^Also, ^^^man, ^^^I'd ^^^brush ^^^my ^^^hair ^^^before ^^^going ^^^on ^^^a ^^^video ^^^interview.

1
RobotApocalypse•

Sorry, meant to get you a time stamp but I was in a hurry at the time, I have time now so I'll skim through and pick the highlights. I felt bad dumping the whole 25 min on you, but the entire thing is worth poking through if you are interested in the subject.

6:30, she gets asked about why she is publicising death threats and courting controversy. This is the point where she starts getting agitated. She dances around a lot of questions hereafter and make sure to remind everyone that she is the victim as much as possible.

Then come the viewer questions, which are hardball as fuk and question her recent conduct. This was shortly after bailing on Milo Yiannopoulos' podcast and screwing him over for that episode because she realised she would get more patreon $$$ from playing victim on MSNBC tabloid news tv. She led him on right up to the day thinking the podcast was going ahead.

18:50, she promises to release the results of the FBI investigation proving she is the victim of a crime once it is concluded (lel)

19:15 Gets asked about Milo, declares the entire interview a hit piece! That happens specifically around 20:50. It goes all downhill from there.

2
VAPossum•

You are awesome, thank you.

I think she had some good points in there, ones that predate Gamergate, but then she turns and says that he's being aggressive and doing a hit piece? She needs to learn the difference between assertive and aggressive. He was firm, but even Jon Stewart gets more aggressive than that.

If she only wants softballs, she needs to find a different vidcast. That's just crazy. And honestly, while I'm not about judging someone on appearances, when you're going to be doing video interviews, you should try to look appropriate. That doesn't have to be a suit, makeup, and a corporate office, but maybe brush your hair, and don't sit in front of what looks like a mildew-stained wall.

Overall, I don't know what to think. Every time I think I do, I read something else, and I realize this entire Gamergate thing is a huge mess that has been detrimental to pretty much everyone involved, and probably some that aren't.

2
SpookySkeletons•

fuck off, everyone on the internet gets treaths all the time. no harm whatsoever has been done to her or any other game dev or journalist. GGers have gotten quite a few threats too, both rape and murder threats. If you look at the fucking picture you can see a guy saying that he would gladly kill GG supporters.

4
VAPossum•

Hey man, I'm just giving context. I've got no opinion on her one way or the other, which is why you don't see me giving one (apart from the fact that getting death threats from people who have your home address is a pretty good reason for anyone to want a bodyguard).

-1
SpookySkeletons•

I honestly don't believe she got any serious threats. + given her track record of making threats on herself, I don't understand why anyone still believes anything she says.

1
VAPossum•

Considering the reactions to me just mentioning her background in this thread, I can absolutely believe that she got threats. Almost certainly all empty, but it doesn't mean they're not scary when you're the target.

0
AustNerevar•

Your context is horribly inaccurate.
