Schoolboy is the youngest age bracket in Greco Roman wrestling, so probably originated in there.
Cause it's a simple move that takes you to school, boy.
Best answer.
It was invented by Pat Patterson.
EDIT: It's a joke about him allegedly being a pedophile. Yes, I am available for stand-up at funerals.
You were invented by Pat Patterson.
Not possible, Patterson doesn't swing that way.
EDIT: I'm referring to him being homosexual.
How did you decide on your username? I like it.
What relevance does this have to the thread?
It's a take on a classic prank where someone gets on their hands and knees behind someone while a third party pushes them, the person down on all fours behind their legs causing them to fall backwards. Called a "school boy" because it's a simple prank one would learn and think nothing of performing during recess at school.
Actually found a gif from wrestling showing what I am describing: http://i.imgur.com/pxLMM.gif
It's the most similar thing you can do with just two people, getting down on all fours behind someone and then reaching up between their legs to pull them back over your own body, causing them to "trip" over you and fall back.
That's always been my understanding of it.
Isn't this also how they teach beginners back bumps?
Yes, for people that have a difficult time getting their ass up high enough to not whiplash their heads into the mat.
It's a useful teaching tool, but I wouldn't call it mandatory.
