I only just realized that I've gotten Hae's name wrong for the first 5 episodes...

Humor/Off Topic

I just found the show today, and I'm on episode 5 right now (so I'm not spending too much time on this sub so I don't learn too much), but I only just realized that her name isn't Haylee and I feel sort of stupid. I thought everyone called her Hay for short, and I even thought about how interesting it was that her immigrant parents gave her an American name. I guess that's an interesting side effect of podcasts!

Don't be ashamed. For some odd reason, I kept thinking "Ulrick" every time I read "Urick." Up through earlier today.

I noticed that the other day and wondered if you were make a stealthy comparison between Urick and the convicted cycling doper, Jan Ulrick.

i thought so too! i thought she was a black or white girl named Hay short for haylee. and i thought jay was an abbreviation for privacy purposes, like J, and adnan sounded like anon to me, i thought they were abbreviating anonymous

It took me ages to realise that when Adnan is calling Sarah and they play the 'Incoming call from 'Adnan Sayed' ' that he's not mumbling 'I'm not sayin' '

I did the same thing for a while, too. You're not alone!

Everybody did. That's nothing to be ashamed of.

A few times when Adnan's name was said I thought they were saying "a nun" and I was very confused.
