Originals or the new louder pressings?
They don't sound overloaded and compressed like Death Magnetic. I believe it's the original master of each recording.
How do you know which ones are loud?
The more recent pressing of Ride The Lightning from Blackened Records is incredibly low. I had to turn it up to twice as loud as I normally do.
I'm guessing since he said WB they're the 2008 crap pressings.
Very nice, I've got a CD collection almost finished, I've got four more coming in the mail today and that will leave just Maiden Heaven and Garage Days Revisited. That includes compilation albums and soundtracks too.
Awesome. The albums I don't have on vinyl are all on CD including Live Shit: Binge and Purge with the three VHS tapes and the tour booklet.
I have all of the CD's and am looking for the vinyl. Metallica was what got me into music in general, them and the Stones changed my life forever.
Those are the only three you need.
The 33 or 45rpm versions?
33rpm. They are super thrashy on 45 though. ;)

Say what you will about Metallica, but these guys were my childhood. They were the gateway drug for me to discover music outside of the shit played on the radio. I remember, my skateboarder punk older cousin playing Master of Puppets when I was a kid. The only one I have missing from my favorite albums is Justice. The Metallica ST is on Blackened recordings (the bands own label) With the others being single disc black, and on Warner Bros.
What was the band that exposed you to the rest of the music world?
I love Metallica. Ironically the album of theirs that made me like them was Garage Inc. I was bowling with some friends of mine my senior year of high school in 2000 I think and "Turn the Page" came on. I had heard Bob Seger's of course but Metallica knocked me on my ass.
I went and bought the album the next day. The guy at the counter asked if I listened to Metallica regularly and I said no. Clerk brings me a copy of Ride the Lightening and said I needed this too. He said if I didn't like it to bring it back and he'd refund me. No refund needed.
Awsome! Astronomy is my favorite track on Garage Inc but the whole thing rocks. I used to have a cassette of Garage Days Re-Revisited, but I lost it in a house fire.
Ironically, I think the best stuff on the disc now are the Motorhead covers. Just down and dirty rehearsals that sound kick ass.
They're live performances according the album.
That's a really cool way to sell a record. Especially knowing once you open it he won't be able to sell it for the same price.
It's good to see some solid banging metal in this sub. I thought I was the only one here who doesn't listen to some obscure music I've never heard of.
We exist. I have a few Between the Buried and Me LPs and the Parallex EP. Some Metallica, Ozzy, Sabbath, etc.
I also have a few hardcore/screamo stuff. Particularly Underoath for the most part.
Nice. I've collected sabbath, slayer, maiden and stuff like that.
Same.
I got Linkin Park Hybrid Theory, Nickleback Silver Side Up and Metallica St.Anger when I was like 13, and it turned me on to rock music in general.
