Two Green Cheek conure boys up for adoption

Redmond, Washington. I am unable to travel far so you'd have to come to us.

I would not recommend adopting them together unless you'd be okay with birds that at best tolerate each other and, at worst, want to kill each other. Should they be adopted together, they'd need to stay in their own separate cages and if forced to interact with each other would need to be heavily supervised.

It breaks my heart to have to do this but things just haven't been working out for the past 6 months or so. A little about me: I'm 24 and live with my fiance in Redmond, Wa. We both have full time jobs and our days off make it so that we do not have much time to spend with each other, let alone the animals. For the dog, it isn't so much a problem. He gets his morning and evening walks and is fine. For my feathered babies, however, I've noticed what the neglect lately has been doing to them and can't do it anymore... I don't get home until late evening and they're ready to settle down by then, as I get them up early when I leave. I recently had to move my younger sister in with us due to her being in a bad place and the noise they cause in such a small apartment drives her nuts and puts tension on our relationship. I understand I might sound like an awful person for doing this, but I genuinely believe it's what they need for more fulfilling birdy lives. I am certainly not blameless here. I could be doing more for them and I genuinely try. Unfortunately, between my anxiety and work stress, I can't be as consistent as I know I need to be and that is ultimately why I feel this needs to happen.

Adopted alone, the birds have the potential to be excellent pets for someone willing to give them the time they need. Both birds are apartment and dog-friendly and come with their VERY large cage and toys. I will be honest about their best and worst qualities because these guys need to find a forever home. It was supposed to be with me, but my life isn't allowing me to give them what they need.

Peanut: He was a former friend's bird and was not only smoked around but constantly neglected, often not fed and never had a clean cage. I took him in because I couldn't stand seeing him like that anymore despite the unstable living situation I was in. Despite everything he went through, though, he is a champ. Very quiet and sweet. The loudest sound he will make is a startled call if something spooks him, but rarely makes anything above a pleasant chirp or call for attention. Very tolerant and even excited to meet all people. He'll get on anyone's shoulder and show them his moves. He loves to dance and sway and be cuddled up against your neck and ear. Bites very rarely and never hard. He's incredibly laid back but seems to prefer men, as he will always take my fiance's shoulder or his male friends over mine and my female friends. He is not very welcoming to anything but his pellets, unfortunately. Some time will need to be spent teaching him how to eat fruits and vegetables, foods essential to the diet of a healthy bird. We've made some slight progress but it's not something I can be reinforcing throughout the day anymore as I am working. Peanut's ideal home would be someone who is willing to let him be himself, while encouraging trying new things and good habits. He isn't very trusting, but is incredibly sweet and loyal. He gets anxiety around Loki and will steer clear of him at all costs, so I can only assume he doesn't like other birds.

Loki: Loki was originally planned to be with me only temporarily. A friend of a friend was just going to dump him off at a pet store and I didn't want to see that happen. I took him in with the intention of tentatively seeing how things would go but likely finding him a good, solid home since I had the time to do so. I ended up falling in love with him myself and decided to keep him after a few months. Very outgoing and affectionate. He will nuzzle into your hand if you lightly cup it around him and loves having the back of his head scratched and preened. He is much more tolerant of new foods and will at least try anything you're eating in front of him. His favorites include bananas, strawberries, and carrots. He always wants to be around you and even knows how to say a few things! Clear as day, he will say "Hello", "Step up" and "No" but I've heard him mimic other phrases on several occasions. He has a tendency to be loud if startled. His calls are much louder than Peanut's but he isn't as vocal in general throughout the day. He also will bite if upset and his bite is significantly harder than Peanut's. He has amazing training potential and is very attentive. You can just see it in his eyes how much he is paying attention to you and wants to impress you. The ideal home for Loki would, in my opinion, include someone with more experience handling birds who can devote the time to really bring out the best pet in this bird. He responds very well to training but needs to be taught that he can't always get his way. He's incredibly sweet, loves showers with you, and loves to cuddle and try new foods but has a bit of an "attitude problem" as he responds negatively to being put back on his cage and when told not to do something. Loki is very eager to engage with Peanut and always flock calls to him if I take him out of the room with me. Peanut unfortunately would get very aggressive toward Loki and the two have had their share of violent altercations. I can't honestly say if Loki would do well with other birds as I don't know much about his history prior to me getting him.

any other information will be happily provided if you post or send me a message. I can also provide other forms of contact info for easier communication should you have genuine interest.
