I'm Shaun Morgan, lead singer of Seether and creator of the Rise Above Fest. AMA

HI reddit, Shaun here.

The 3rd annual Rise Above Fest (http://riseabovefest.com/) is taking place on May 9th in Bangor, ME and joining us for this year’s festival is Godsmack, Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, Papa Roach, All That Remains, Butcher Babies and many more.

We launched the festival in 2012 in an effort to raise awareness towards suicide prevention and mental illness. The festival’s name derived from our song, “Rise Above This,” penned as a deeply personal message to my brother who sadly took his own life before he had a chance to hear it.

Since 2012, we've raised over $70K. Rise Above Fest 2015 is raising funds for SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education), one of the leading national not-for profit organizations dedicated to raising awareness and educating the public about mental health and suicide prevention in order to SAVE lives. www.save.org

You can help support the cause in several ways:
