Amazing! How many hours did you work on this? I'm also working on a similar (yet smaller) city. Any tips?
Build as realistically as you can. Base it off historical examples and once you've developed a general style you can improvise from there.
edit: forgot about the hours question. This was built by predominantly by 3 people on and off for 2 months. Not sure about exact number of hours but we're no strangers to building Roman so can build with pretty good efficiency.
Oh wow, working on the same project for that long would drive me insane. Thanks for the advice.
no problem, if you send me a message about what you're building I could show you an example of how we'd build in that sort of style
Good job!! It looks absolutely phenomenal!
Very impressive. I particularly like the triremes. Can the boats be sailed?

Just a few of the ships in action.
We tend to use a warp system as opposed to sailing because we haven't found the "perfect" mod for it. If you have any suggestions though please pass them on! we use Cauldron Technic 1.7.10
If your version of Cauldron uses Forge version of 1230 or greater, you may want to try Cuchaz's Ships Mod. I've not tried it myself, but it looks good.
Thanks, we'll look into it
Incredible! Love your work.
Whenever I try to render pics like these, they end up looking like crap. Do you know a good tutorial explaining how to do it (with shaders and stuff)?
i'll be honest all i saw were blue links and i clicked and said 'wow cool'; it's too early for so many words. regardless those are some dandy nice roman city pics you have there
Thank you, I think?

Removed, no server advertising is allowed here.
..couldn't you just have editted the part with the server advert and kept the actual content
Moderators can't edit posts.
I get that but just pm him and get 'im to fix it lickity split
I removed what I thought was the offending part. I'd not actually given a link of any kind to our website but I removed the lines like "Or join us if you want to see it for yourself", etc if that makes it better?
That said it doesn't matter now... post has been buried by the deletion so no one will see our hard work.
My concern was actually the last sentence in the album, you invite people to your server website there. If you remove that you can post the images again.
I saw it and was motivated by it, gl keep it up 8)))))
I never actually gave a direct link to our website. Just a short line at the end saying "or see it for yourself". Ah well, I think I removed the offending part now.
