All of the problems in the world are really just one simple problem with a simple solution

The main reason that most members of our society are complacent is because there are so many problems that it seems pointless to try to fix them all, so most people just focus on themselves, they feel powerless to do anything else.

What if it isn't so complex, what if we just focus on all the symptoms and become overwhelmed and blind to what is causing them?

What if all the complex problems that we cannot solve are really just symptoms of a simple problem with a simple solution?

You cannot solve these problems independently, but if you treat it as one problem it becomes so much easier to deal with. If you break down every single problem in the world to their root cause you will always find the same answer.

That answer is economics. Every society is controlled by economics, every problem we face today is cause by greed, our global economy is controlled by greed. The solution is simple, the economy is the purest democracy we have. The economy is a decentralized democracy and we vote with our money.

We can change everything, we can redistribute the wealth, we can end the violence and greed. We sit on the sidelines voting for politicians thinking they will change things and nothing ever happens, because we have forgotten that the real voting takes place when you decide who you're going to give your money to.

The distributing wealth thing will never work because not all people are good and honest and they will abuse the system making it worse than the current one, also not everything has to do with money think about earthquakes and cancer and those type of things

It's never going to be perfect, but it can change things. Obviously it's not going to change natural problems, but it can change all the problems caused by humanity.

Poverty, global warming, factory farming, destruction of the environment, the war on drugs, crime etc. these are all economic problems. The reason that corporations, institutions and individuals have become so powerful is because we voted for them. We create billionaires by giving them our money. Every powerful institution becomes more powerful because we keep giving them more power.

If for example an entire city decided to stop buying things from corporate supermarkets and started using independents it would cause the corporations to become less profitable, so they would have to raise their prices. At the same time independent stores would become more profitable and could lower their prices. Over time this would redistribute the wealth. Imagine what that could do on a global scale.

We see this happening all the time. We constantly change the behavior of businesses by voting with our money, we know it works. The same principals apply to the black market as well, look at what Silk Road accomplished.

We have seen the truth and scientific knowledge win out over previous paradigms in the long run throughout human history. With the relatively recent exponential increase in global communication and knowledge, that timescale has been decreasing. I am confident that compassion will win out over greed.

In a sense this shifting if values towards compassion is the next collective human evolution. The only question now is when does this happen? If it doesn't I think our species is a dead branch.

The only question now is when does this happen?

When we succeed in making it happen.

I thought my group of friends were the only ones to find capitalism through drugs. And that is an excellent way of describing that experience. I've always found it really hard to explain the "epiphany" I had.

Everyone else seeds to reach neoliberalism.
