A concrete tip for staying away from porn - Lock up the PC, or move it to a common space
This post is part of an ongoing series of posts about staying away from porn.
Two of the main factors in porn use is its accessibility and anonymity. If you can access your computer, you can access the internet, you can access porn. If no one can see that you're using porn, why stop?

Consider turning off your laptop or PC instead of just leaving it on all the time. You might not be able to lock it away, but when you're not using it for work, school, or something important, turn it off. Browsing freely with no goal in mind leads too easily to your old habits and patterns. Also consider turning off the wifi router when not in use. It won't lower your electricity bill, but it just might lower your porn use.

Instead of having your screen somewhere private, move it to a common area. Difficult if you've got a dedicated office space set up, but if you can afford to set up an office space, you can afford to move things around. Porn use is aided by anonymity, i.e. "no one can see you're using it". By taking that aspect away, you make it more difficult to use porn. If your wife, girlfriend, or roommates can see your screen, you're not going to want them to see you use porn. This is one case where peer pressure can be a good thing. :)
