Poor graphics performance?

I have a pretty low-end rig (8GB RAM, Pentium Dual core [email protected] GHz, ATI Radeon 5450) and i was wondering, what should i upgrade to increase performance? im currently sitting on 50fps @low settings/res. I would have just gone straight to uprading my graphics card but i was told that CS is very CPU intensive so maybe i should upgrade that?

edit: im on a pretty tight budget, would preferably just upgrade 1 part. im not looking to jump up to 250fps just a more comfortable ~100fps

Ant advice is greatly appreciated.

Can you post the rest of the specs? Like the type of MB? PSU? Etc...

Upgrading your GPU will make a difference, but the difference will be a lot bigger with a quad core CPU.

You should upgrade everything. Maybe you could reuse your RAM and PSU, but a Pentium Dual core with a Radeon 5450 is either way shit. So if you upgrade either, the other will be your bottleneck.

Look into buying something used if money is tight. A i5 2500K with a 6XX/7XX GTX should be decent and shouldn't be expensive bougth used.

would either of: AMD A10-7700K @3.5GHz, OR i5 2500S @2.70GHz be any good? theyre on sale(used) at a place near me and would be handy.

Not really sure mate. Your best bet is to look at benchmark test or some hardware guru to help you.

I just know that the i5 2500K model (which is easily overclocked) is a pretty decent CPU and a lot of bought it. So I figured it would be easy to find it used

I am currently running a i5 2500k and a GTX 760 FTW. I can hold a steady 250+ fps. (Just food for thought)

CPU and GPU ideally, you don't need top-of-the-line ones in order to see a significant performance improvement.

cpu+mobo

That cpu is no good for cs, biggest improvement is new cpu but then you need new mb and memory too if you have ddr2 not ddr3.

get a new computer, I recommend picking something from www.logicalincrements.com make sure to select your regions and don't spend more than you can afford, it will most likely be enough for CS:GO.

upgrade your gpu first, anywhere around 500-800$ gpu would boost your fps twice, if you want to get something above 200fps, its better to upgrade your cpu as well. If you have the budget go for new pc, if not go for gpu

Do you even bottleneck? He's still using a Pentium - That needs to go first.

800$ gpu? Man that is like gtx 980 lol...
