Well, I want to get 20 referrals to get that juicy litre.
However using my own personal device is out of the question for the time being, is there any way I could use an emulator to do self referrals for my account? If it is possible any laptop emulator recommendation?
If this is illegal to be discussed here I'll promptly delete this question.

Gosh I just finished getting 20 referral by making my friends downloading and enter my name, now I have to do everything on my own. So much work :(
I'm trying to get referrals done on genymotion but every time I logged in as guest I got a guest account someone else had already made and apparently was still on and fighting with me over the control of the account. Does anyone know how to get around this?
Not illegal. You can download bluestack, guest account, complete tutorial, connect to hive with another account, uninstall, reinstall, redo, connect to the same previous hive account, redo.

Connecting with another account instead of your own after completing the tutorial just ensures you don't accidentally delete your main account. And rather than reinstalling the app, you can close the game, login to your dummy Hive account through an Internet browser, and change the password. It will log your account out of the game when you start it up again to repeat the referral process.

to add on: use a backup app so that you don't stress the download servers and save time
how do you use a backup app? do I need to root my phone for that? : p
it backs up the data you have in your app that was downloaded, the one i use is helium, but titanium seems good too
EDIT: helium needs root or a PC application for it to work.
do a backup after you finish downloading extra data but before you log in to any account
try to do it on the computer, it's much faster
