The first 90 days
I'm one of the older guys around here. I've got decades of history with these issues, so in some ways, 90 days seems a relatively small thing (it did take me 2 tries over the course of 2 years to get it done, though). But it is something I will celebrate for myself, and will try to continue to cultivate like a seedling.
P and PMO for me is basically about escape and not dealing with life and pressures. I sometimes use other things for this, like sports blogs, electronics sites, etc., but PMO, like a drug, messes up life in a much more extensive manner. So while I experienced the usual nofap difficulties, I think the harder part has been facing the things I don't want to deal with. I've removed the numbing agent of pmo and I'm left to face myself.
I've got a lot of good in my life, both at home and at work. Damn, I'm really pretty lucky at that. But I don't always see it and feel it. To work on that, I've got to work on my depression and that is currently in progress.
On a note more in the nofap vein, I need to work more on objectifying. I don't really do it with a motive toward fantasizing -- it's a habitual looking over and scanning. One thing that is really interesting for me, though, is that while my brain does this, seemingly to try to set off the old habits, my body does not really respond. It's very flatline-like. However, certain types do attract/stimulate me a little, and I definitely respond to my SO. Overall, I'd say that's moving in a healthy direction.
This nofap movement is remarkable. It is a response to what has been a silent problem for a long time, which is becoming worse, imo. My ask is that we continue to be supportive of each other, keep sharing our experiences, and keep working to better ourselves.
Thanks to all!
