Introducing "Reddit Gold" Linkshell on Asura!

Before I get into the specifics of the Linkshell I want to say one thing.

A big shoutout to this amazing community. Asura went from being the 4-5th most popular server to being on par with Odin and possibly becoming one of the largest servers. Whenever I log in and see all the discussions about the game and watching everyone help each other it really shows how powerful a community can be.

No matter how many MMORPGs I have played in my life, I have never seen a community so dedicated and amazing as Final Fantasy XI's.

You all have made the Reddit Linkshell one of the largest Linkshell ever made and we have zero intention of slowing down. While we are as popular as ever and growing more everyday, we will all do our best in trying to maintain quality over all other standards for years to come. Long live FFXI!

DO NOT submit application in this post. Use the primary Linkshell post for that! Thank you!

After much thought on the matter and advice from multiple people within the community, as well as within the Linkshell, a second Linkshell for the Reddit community over on Asura seems to be the only way we can solve our population problems.

How it will be run:

Whenever a new member joins the Reddit Linkshell they will be handed 2 Linkpearls. One to Reddit and one to RedditGold. When Reddit is filled to the max capacity then they are to equip RedditGold.

No member is to equip both Linkpearls at the same time, except for Pearlsacks/Officers.

If you are planning an event and want to ask both shells, that is 100% allowed though. Just ask they respond to you via /tell or something of the sort. The rule about both pearls is exclusively in long-term mindset.

Plans:

  1. All Pearlsacks must have both equipped at all times. This will make it so all the rules of the original Reddit Linkshell will be up to standard.

  2. If there is an event being planned by a member of the Linkshell, please let a Pearlsack know to tell the other Linkshell. The easiest way would be to create a post over on r/RedditLinkshell to make sure the event is planned head of time and seen by all.

  3. If the Linkshells start to form "cliques" of sorts and end up breaking up the community in some way, this will be handled accordingly. Reddit is one giant family and we have zero interest in ruining the community aspect in any way.

This will also mean we will need more Pearlsacks! We will have more info posted on that on r/RedditLinkshell in the near future.

Because this is the first time we had a second Linkshell, new rules and expectations will have to be added for Pearlsacks/Officers of the Linkshell.

Any criticism towards how we manage the double Linkshell is extremely helpful is shaping the future for our amazing community and would appreciate any advice along the way.

Thanks!
