First of all - wanted to give a shout out to kikootwo and the other developers on this project. I know y'all have put a lot of hard work into it with very little financial rewards.
The issue I wanted to address in this post is the way people go about posting here. Nothing bugs me more than seeing people post rude demands or what they consider "bug issues." Even worse is when people post about issues that have already been discussed or addressed in previous posts. So seriously, here are some things to take into consideration before you post something thinking you're the most important person in the world:
-
This is a free bot. More than likely you did not donate to the developers and so therefore you are getting someone absolutely free. Therefore you truly have zero things to complain about or bug the developers about. If you have a bug to report or perhaps a suggestion, post it with your device info and perhaps a screenshot,. Forum titles with "??????????????" and ALL CAPS LIKE THIS DEMANDING THE DEVELOPERS ATTENTION are rude and although Kik is usually pretty awesome about responding to them, its not necessary and they don't deserve that. They owe nothing to you.
-
Search through the other posts before posting your question. I repeat: Search through the other posts before posting your question. So many times I see people posting about their personal "pressing issue" thinking nobody else has ever encountered it before. Most of them have, and I don't understand how Kik hasn't wanted to kill himself responding to them all. Show some decency and see if your issue has already been fixed and addressed before filling up the subreddit with outdated posts.
3)Be patient and polite. As I said before - this is a free bot. Kik and the other guys are not charging for the bot (unless you're asking for custom stuff). They are not making money off of this. They have no duty to any of us to continually update it or add anything. We are at the mercy of THEIR schedule and nobody should feel they deserve special treatment. So far the dev's have been awesome about responding to our questions and putting out updates, so nobody should have any complaints for these guys.
Just some thoughts I've had and I hope there are others who agree. Thanks again Kik and the other guys working on it!
