FierceGentleman.com: Become a better leader, father, husband, brother, lover, gentleman.
Hi Manprovement! I'm the June Blog of the Month, www.FierceGentleman.com
INITIAL INSPIRATION FOR THE BLOG
Like a lot of men, I grew up without a very strong father presence in my life. I was frustrated by the gender stereotypes and archetypes I was being shown in the media and given as "role models", and I wanted to create my own -- a man I could really aspire to be. The Fierce Gentleman is the result.
In brief, the Fierce Gentleman is "A man on his mission, adoring & honoring his woman, facing his demons, and saving the world."
Does that sound hopelessly naive? Good. The world needs a little less self-indulgent cynicism, a little more hopeful naivety, if humanity is going to survive the coming evolution.
ONGOING INSPIRATION
The men who continually show up reading the blog. For instance, we just did an amazing interview with a reader who quit his 6-figure sales job to teach special ed, and lost 70 lbs of fat while adding 500 to his deadlift along the way.
No, I can't make this stuff up.
WHO ELSE IS INVOLVED?
I write most of the articles, but have recently brought on a Research Assistant to help me produce the articles and keep up with correspondence and email. His name is Dennis, and he's a real gentleman.
OUR UNIQUE MESSAGE
I think the unique message of Fierce Gentleman is that we address the moral & ethical dimensions of a man's life, not just his consumer behavior. In contrast to a site like AskMen, which might tell you which tie to wear, and how to respond to your girlfriend's text message. We're also sexier than ArtofManliness.
Another thing that sets us apart, I think, is that we are non-political, non-religious, and non-partisan. Hardcore rational empiricist atheists are just as welcome as crunchy spiritualists. We have followers who are Buddhist as well as Latter Day Saints.
TWO EXAMPLES OF THE BLOG
The best place to start is with The 10 Qualities That Make You a Fierce Gentleman. This article went viral on Facebook and has amassed quite the comment collection.
FUN FACT
I've been to Burning Man three times. I say y'all a lot, and refer to people as "folks."
Glad to be here, and happy to answer any questions y'all have.
