Reading through the various Typhoon systems right now.. Man, that thing is complex and features so much stuff we've never seen in DCS before
Would love to have an actual modern aircraft, but I'd be really surprised if this actually ever gets finished
Most of the Radar and ECM capabilities will maybe be roughly simulated at best, it's just too classified.
We are talking about the EF2000 Eurofighter Typhoon, right?
This thing:

That would be awesome if we could get that in the inventory. It would be a nice change from all the A-10C and F-15s that seem to be the mainstay of the community. :)
Remember flying EF2000 back in the mid-1990s. Man, that was a long time ago. The game was amazing though.

Remember begging my wife for permission to blow money on a next gen Voodoo card to play it. Wow, that brings back memories. It wasn't stuttery like in the YouTube video, but for the time that was pretty sweet.
Yes, the Eurofighter Typhoon.
VEAO are working with the Royal Air Force, the single largest operator of the type, to both provide a simulation environment for them, as well as obtaining accurate data to make the public DCS simulation as realistic as possible.
Even with all the data, it will be probably far off from realistic. The aircraft and especially its systems are just to classified.
I'll believe it when I see it.
Yeah, this module will release when they retire the typhoon in 2050 or something
VEAO is the most ridiculous 3rd party developer for DCS. Such big plans and they have don't have anything to show after 3 years... (SFM trainer is not much compared to ther "wish" list)
I read that as we won't see this module in 2015. Just my personal opinion.
Even if they didn't have like 7,565,480,480.5 other aircraft planned, 6,450,855 of which are under "active" development, I'd have to agree.
With all things DCS modules: Until I start seeing videos of the actual flight and systems model I consider the project not much more than fancy 3D meshes at best, or vaporware at worst.
Such skeptics have we both been made to be...
No kidding. They even stated they made an "Edge 540" tech demonstrator, which might get turned into another module, so looks like its 7,565,480,481.5 aircraft.
And remember, it has been 5 months since VEAO intended to release the P-40F (in Dec 2014), and we still haven't seen the IWM P-40F video they said they will upload with highlights from the event.
All it takes is one shoddy napkin sketch of an airplane these days and it's "under development" and set to release in (inset hilariously optimistic release date here).
