Arranged Matchups and You

##Why do arranged matchups?

As many of you know, we have been trying to arrange matchups with various clans in an effort to not only provide more challenging bases for you attack, but also to have skilled attackers hitting your bases. We are all sick of easy wars and arranging matchups provides us a way to ensure an even matchup and a good challenge. Where we as your leaders have fallen short is really explaining the sync process as we go along... so here I am writing this post for all of you. Please bear in mind that this is all new to us so we are learning and adjusting on the fly, trying as always to make the best decisions for the clan as a whole.

##So what has been going on?

We were thrilled to be successful in our efforts to match with Reddit Demons for 2015_5_S03W04 and I think we can all agree it was a great war. We were sad to be unsuccessful in our matchup with SI Warriors for 2015_5_S03W05, but glad that because they found an opponent before we did, we were able to restart the clan war with everyone in. Unfortunately, we were the ones to find an opponent first in our attempted sync with Reddit Legacy for 2015_5_S03W06.

##Obviously there are some problems...

What we have found so far is that A) arranging a matchup takes a lot of time and is tough to balance B) arranging a matchup of clans of similar strength usually means cutting TH8 C) We will never be able to war with everyone opted in, as balancing requires us to make cuts in terms of war gold value and also hero levels.

##Plans for the Future

The only thing that sucks more than failing to sync is failing to sync and having half the clan sitting out of a war. We absolutely hate the idea that we can't war with everyone. That is why moving forward we will attempt no more than 3 arranged matchups per season. We will continue to try and line up opponents for every other war and will do our best to get as many players in each war as possible.

Please know that if you are opted out from an arranged war, it is most likely we are simply doing this to balance the roster for the matchup. We do not have favorites in this clan, and I promise you that if any of us take issue with something you're doing or not doing we will address it with you directly in a clear fashion.

Thanks to all of you for what you do to make this game fun for all of us to play by contributing to this amazing clan. As your leaders, we strive to lead by example and be available and transparent. We hope that you will share your thoughts or ask questions in the comments, or send us a mod mail if you'd prefer to express your feelings privately. Omicron wouldn't be what it is without each and everyone one of you so please make your voices heard.
