Do you enjoy the legendary quest?

Dreanor has had some of the best quests I have ever experienced in wow. It makes you as a player feel like a important part of the overall story and feel connected to the main characters. All of this, I feel like, comes to a grinding halt when you start the high maul portion of the legendary questline.

Now I don't mind grinding( like rep grinding in wotlk and cata) and I love what story content there is. But doing the same content over and over and over in both the hm and brf portion of the quest is some of the most boring stuff I have ever had to do in world of warcraft. I know that they have to keep players busy between patches but I know blizzard can do much better with content than this, as they have already shown.

These insane collection quests are not fun. They are not challenging and they don't make you enjoy the the raids at all. If anything they make you hate the content that is obviously really well made.

I love the story in Wow that is why I have forced my way through these parts of the quest and am probably going to play through the hellfire part of it as well. But man I hope they do something different next time.

Sorry if I come of as a ass from this post but I can't be alone in thinking this can I?

Ow I do a lot.

  • Collecting 5k Apexis crystals - A blast. After 6.1 hit a bit less blasty than before.
  • Collecting 125 Abrogator Stone - I can´t imagine anything better. The fun got even better after 6.1 hit. Now any alt outgears the instance and I am there for Abrogator Stone and Fractured Temporal Crystal.
  • Collecting 900 Elemental Rune - If 125 was not enough it can even get Better! 900 Runes.

I cannot wait for the next tier asking for 8700 items with 50 dropping from a single boss for a kill.

8734 Runestones. 8733 would be inadequate, and 8735 would be ridiculous. 8734! Do you hear me?!

Just a little tip for anyone doing the first part of the quest for apexis crystals. Get a mage tower/spirit lodge while you're leveling up. You'll get a bunch of waystones for work orders leveling through gorgrond and by the time you hit 100 you'll be fairly far into the 5k requirement if not already over it (depending on how fast you level).

Compared to the Cloak chain from Pandaria I find the current one far more enjoyable:

  • Khadgar > Wrathion's whiny dragon ass
  • Guaranteed drops, but require more, feels much better then multiple tiers of items like Sigils of Power/Wisdom, Secrets, and Runestones which required fewer, but were "rarer" drops. Early on my main went weeks without seeing a secret, and an alt went a couple weeks without 1 runestone until they hotfixed Lei Shen. Currently you will always get a minimum amount of drops from the bosses, with the chance for more. Basically there is a minimum number of weeks it will take to finish that part of the chain.
  • Khadgar
  • The current solo "challenges" we've seen are okay, but I sort of like the challenges from Pandaria (thunder isle forge, celestial blessings eg), fighting the dragon with the poor heals, or the stealth mission into an area I was just in the other day finishing up the garrison campaign felt a little odd.
  • Did I mention Khadgar?
  • Speaking of him, did you notice we don't have to grind rep for him like we did for Wrathion?
  • So far no forced PvP, but I wouldn't put it past them to try to force Ashran on everyone.

The questchain is for a legendary after all, so you can't expect it to be quick, but at least you aren't forced into pvping or mindlessly grinding mobs to get exalted with a whiny dragon whelp.

You forgot to mention the best point.

  • Khadgar!

I think it would be fine if the catch up method was more significant. Right now it maybe shaves 2-3 weeks off a 10 week grind.

i don't see how getting a few new quest drops from raid bosses suddenly makes the raids not fun. i guess running lfr every week gets a little annoying after awhile but i'd probably run them anyway might as well get something out of it

Gonna be honest, my least favorite part is the Garona stealth quest after getting the 715 ring. Two of my alts have the ring, still haven't finished that quest.

Just kill literally everything with the assassinate ability, and if you kill someone too close to another lone enemy, use an interrupt to stop the cast long enough for garona's assassinate to come back up.

They did make this significantly easier than when it first came out. It shouldn't take you more than ten minutes tops.

Nope, everyone does the same shit the same way and it feels like we are just trying to power through it for a damage bonus, old legendaries (Cata/wrath) your guild and group had to work as a team to achieve a goal together and the person who got the legend probably felt legendary, because with this ring I sure as fuck won't feel special.

I don't like that "legendary items" are now obtained by the whole raid and people who only do lfr can get them just as fast as anyone else.

What would you think if it was more or less the exact same system, but only obtainable in Heroic+ or even Mythic only?

Personally, I feel like the thing that's REALLY killed the legendary status of the things is that everyone and their dog can just roll their face across the keyboard and get it. They're just not exclusive anymore.

I'd still not like the system. Legendary items are supposed to be one of a kind, not raid wide. And, actually, I wouldn't mind having it obtainable in LFR, but make it a living nightmare to get.

Take Dragonwrath for example. For the various collecting quests, heroic Firelands dropped more than normal Firelands, and 25 man dropped more than 10 man. If mythic dropped 20 of something, heroic should drop 15, normal drops 10, and lfr has a chance to drop 1. But drop rate is only part of this. On top of that, legendary components aren't on personal loot. Everyone working on the quest can role.

For the final stage of the quest, you needed to get the Heart of Ragnaros. In heroic, the person who is getting the staff has to have the unfinished staff (an epic staff) equipped, not die during the fight, and kill Rag. Pretty straight forward. For normal you had a debuf that persists throughout the entire fight. The debuff is a cross between Ko'ragh's fire and the knockback spell from the mages before Twins.

TL;DR: Legendary items shouldn't be for everyone and the lower the difficulty, the harder it should be to get.

People who have to rely on LFR to get their drops have to wait two weeks to start, and are further slowed by the gated release of wings through LFR. People in raiding guilds still get theirs much faster. What exactly is the problem here?
