Did anyone manage to 'cure' their VS? (And your experiences with VS)
I've had VS for the past six months or so, it started slowly and then I began to notice it all the time. Right now it's really affecting my concentration and overall mood. I've been to the ER, Optometrist and to the Optician without any real help. I doubt they believe me and they probably think it's psychosomatic or at least partially so. I guess it's a very rare condition making it harder to be believed.
I have the usual visual static noise all the time, mainly in light and dark areas (the image on the Wikipedia page describes it pretty well but my noise is even smaller but still as intense). Reading has become more difficult and like I've mentioned my overall concentration has worsened. I also see halos around lights (even at daytime) and those white little dots jumping around (against a blue sky). I also have some floaters that I haven't noticed before.
I get afterimages from light sources (it's like staring at the sun) and I can't look at the sky for more than a couple of seconds before I have to look away.
Coupled with this I also suffer from tinnitus that started early 2014 that has gradually gotten worse, this is entirely my own fault though for scratching my inner ears with q-tips (never do that!). It sounds like a vacuum cleaner that's producing noise in the next room, a bit similar to white noise. From what I've read there could be a connection between tinnitus and VS, it sure feels like it for me at least. For a while I experience some cognitive 'slowness' but it's gradually becoming a bit better at least, maybe it is coupled with VS as well.
Did it get better for anyone of you? Right now it feels really bad, specially if it's chronic.
I'm grateful for any replies!
