Out of the total $1,148,971 given, an average of $17,676.48 was donated to each of the 65 “yea” votes.

That's a surprisingly small sum. Our politicians don't just suck, they're cheap.

This sub should start a PAC. For about $10,000 you can get face time with a state politician. For about $40,000 you can get face time with a governor.

Trust me, black mail played a part. Why the fuck do you think they want to access eveybodies emails? Its not to look at yours, unless they have some reason to target you. If you keep dirt on someone powerful, you can basically wield said power as your own.

"Fast track" is how all trade agreements are done. There was nothing special about this one

I heard about this on the radio, from Alan Colms of all people so no right-wing slant ... fast-track is routine for all presidents as it allows them to come up with a plan which is then given to congress, who have 60 days to approve it or not approve it.

It's just that fast-track sounds scary, since we're giving it to that dangerous black man this time.

Exactly. It sounds like they are hurrying it through... In reality, it skips the debate period while the agreement is drafted and revised. You do that because you can't have multi-nation trade agreements debated and amended by representatives of east podunk, Alabama.

Why not, actually?

You'll never get a final version of the bill... You'll have parliaments from multiple countries all adding and taking out stuff to benefit themselves and in response, every other country objecting to every change. Plus, you have different parliamentary procedures. It's like getting the nba, mlb, nhl, nfl, and fifa together on a field, dropping a mix of lawn darts, golf balls, and pool noodles and trying to get a game going

Once the boomers die off, we have a lot of dismantling to do...

2
Agallion•

Gen x and millennials in these business already subscribe to these policies... Simply removing the boomers helps very little

I see a lot of pressure for things to go Left. This is good in my book. You can be conservative as hell, and some are, but everyone knows if your workers can't afford to buy the shit they make, the system tends to lock up.

MaestroLogical•

You're forgetting about nepotism. Once all the boomers die off, their kids and friends will be benefiting from the broken mess and things will only continue to get worse.

2
viperone•

And you know, I did completely forget about that. I made that mistake.

We'll just have to fight them when the dismantling begins. Don't worry though, I hear they're a bunch of weak willed push overs compared to their parents. Being ultimately spoiled your whole life tends to do that. ;p
