Will John Cena ever tap out?

Last night there were moments when I genuinely thought Cesaro could make Cena tap, like when he turned the sharpshooter into a cross face to stop Cena from grabbing the ropes. As I saw someone say in the post-RAW thread, making Cena tap would be about as impressive as ending the Undertaker's streak. I hope to the wrestling gods it happens at some point, it would be a moment for the ages.

I'd like to hear your views on this, will he and should he ever give up?

His whole character is based around the idea of never giving up, I don't think it'd be good for business.

But imagine the rub an upcoming wrestler would get if he can add "made Cena tap out" to his resume. I almost thought Cesaro was going to do it last night because that seemed like it should be a star-making match.

If Cena ever does tap out again I don't think it'll be on Raw and it would have to be the right guy in the right circumstances.

I think the only time it would have made sense in recent years would have been if it was Daniel Bryan was to have done it before Cena had his surgery but the "Never Give Up" merchandise is going to sell much better if he follows through with that promise.

People a similar thing about Undertaker's streak, and even though many still think it shouldn't have ended, it really helped get Brock to the level he is at now.

I don't mind that he beat the streak but I honestly don't know that Brock wouldn't have been at the same level anyway. It's something that can never be proven but I don't think he'd have suffered from losing to Taker because destroying a full-time Cena was more impressive to me.

If they let Joe keep the Samoan Submission Machine gimmick, I could see him making Cena tap.

I think he will (I know he has in the past but not since becoming super cena).

I thought it wouldve made sense for Cena to tap to Rusev thus making Rusev look like a monster and the start of a Cena heel turn.

Hopefully if he ever taps out again it will be to make someone a star.

He has a few times, it's on youtube if you want to look it up.

Was it towards the start if his career though? Presumably it was before he became Mr. "Never Give Up".

Your question was "will he ever?" and the answer was "he has."

Benoit, Jericho, Angle and Rusev* have beaten him by submission.

*Rusev was by passout

I think it was obvious what I meant. He hasn't given up in over a decade, and it will give a huge boost to the next person who does it.

The Undertaker I believe is one of the only dudes with a lengthy career to never officially tap, even Cena has tapped.

I don't think Sheamus has ever tapped either but don't quote me on that

Undertaker tapped out to Angle on an episode of Smackdown, but the result was a draw because he tapped as the ref was counted the pinfall. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDZIP3lLE5o
