New Competitive Tagpro Cheating Rules

The leaders of USC, ELTP, MLTP, NLTP, OLTP and CC have mutually agreed with the developers to adopt new anti-cheating rules. We are jointly creating a single, cross-league whitelist for every allowed script, officially located here. The whitelist applies to all matches, both public and private. The only place you can use scripts not on the whitelist is in Test servers and in spectator mode. As of writing, the whitelist is missing the vast majority of legal scripts. We need your help to bring it up to speed and keep it consistent.

The new whitelist will not go into effect until your league tells you. We don't want everyone to have to play Vanilla Tagpro as we get this off the ground.

Please note, this does not apply to spectator scripts. For more details, read the FAQ.

If you are a competitive Tagpro player, you need to do two things:

  1. Review all of your installed scripts and validate that it is present in the whitelist.

  2. If any of your scripts are NOT in the whitelist, disable it and request its approval by filling out this form.

We understand this may be a painful process at first, but we strongly believe it will make Tagpro better.

##FAQ

Q: What scripts are now legal?

A: You can view all of the legal scripts here. Specifically, look under the "Scripts" folder.

Q: Are scripts that only run in spectate mode subject to the whitelist?

A: No! You may run any script in spectate mode that doesn't interfere with the game at hand. (No sending messages automatically, for example)

Q: So how exactly are developers catching cheaters?

A: That information is not going to be public, so we won't be answering specifics about that process.

Q: The whitelist doesn't contain a script I think should be legal. What do I do?

A: Either contact the original script developer to have him/her request it to be whitelisted or request it yourself by filling out this form.

Q: What happens if I use a non-whitelisted script?

A: Make sure you review the rules of each league you partake in. Each league may handle disallowed scripts differently.

Q: I am a script developer. How do I submit a script for approval?

A: Fill out this form.

Q: I am a script developer. How do I update a script?

A: For now, fill out this form. We are looking at ways to simplify this process going forward.

Q: How will the whitelist stay updated?

A: Each league has nominated a representative to review script submissions twice a week to keep the whitelist up to date.

Q: Can I use scripts that are not in the whitelist in public games?

A: No. All of the leagues are in agreement that players may never use scripts that are not in the whitelist in public games. Non-whitelisted scripts can only be used in spectator mode and on maptest servers.

Q: Can I modify any script from the whitelist?

A: You cannot modify whitelisted scripts and use them on production servers. If you edit a script, you must submit a request to approve your modified version.
