i got nostalgia and wanted to play, should i get a used one? what else can i do with it? will it be worth it?

Yes, found my old PSP 3000 collecting dust in my garage a couple years back, so I put custom firmware on it and loaded all sorts of emulators and games on it. You can also play ISO images of your favorite PS1 games using POPSloader, as well as images of old PSP games. There are plenty of tutorials all over youtube and the rest of the internet on how to do all this.
I would get a Vita. Remote play for any game on ps4 and has better specs than the PSP.
Add custom firmware, emulators, ISOs of your choice, and you're set to go.
Yes it is. I have a Vita and I am loving it. I used to have a 3000 but I broke it trying to change the faceplate to a white one, I wanna get another one just for the emulators and to save space in my Vita. You could put CFW on it and put homebrew apps or emulators.
Yeah, there's a ton of amazing gems for it, and they're all pretty cheap right now
Yes, just got a used one a few weeks ago and my 3ds has been gathering dust since I started playing P3P.
That's an odd question in my opinion. I find that it is indeed still worth it in my opinion, but for you I'd ask myself: have I played the games that I liked on the psp? If you have, then better grab a vita.
For emulation, hell yeah. But for high performance gaming and stuff, get a vita.
Ebook reader, gaming device for every system pre-PS2/GameCube, media platform, and web browser.
No.
But I'm a liar.
I think it is totally worth it. For the library of psp games and emulation. The battery lasts forever and with cfw you can play anything. Buy a vita someday for the newer games but you can't beat the psp for variety of games, price, and battery life.
?
If you just want to emulate old games and play some cheap PSP games you can get at Gamestop or online, then yeah. If you want a high performance mobile gaming experience, get a PS Vita.
Can the Vita emulate as well as the PSP does?
Unfortunately I don't have nor have I used a PS Vita so I can't really give you a definitive answer, but this thread has some good information about emulation on a PS Vita vs. a PSP.
The vita is only hacked through the psp portion of it. The psp can be had with an adapter to accept two micro sd cards. So you can have more storage and it will be cheaper.
This is no longer true. Vitas have been natively hacked and emulators are now being developed for it. At the current moment there are only Gameboy and NES emulators though, so if you're looking for something beyond the PSP's capabilities, it may be a while.
