Planning on spending the entire day outside at the river, is there something I can put in my hair to lighten it for fun.

I have the dark brown guy hair (like Pony Boy). It'd be fun to know I'm getting a tan, working out, AND my hair is up to something too. What do I put in there to actually have something happen by the time I wash it out in the river. I know, it won't be extreme and that's great anyway.

Lemon juice

Diluted lemon juice, but if you do use it be careful not to get it on any of your skin. Citrus is phototoxic and will give you serious burns from sunlight.

I've never done it, but I know that either lemon juice or peroxide lightens up dark hair.

As in hyrdogen peroxide? Like in the brown bottles?

Yes. I can't really speak to the color you'll end up with though. It could be orange-y, or it could be what you want. Try googling it.

Hey I'm okay with that, I can always cut it if it looks tacky. It's the summer of 2015 :)

lol if that's your attitude, you should do lemon juice on one half and peroxide on the other half and compare!

Everyone pretty much said it, lemon juice with water and if you have coconut oil or vitamin e throw some in there too because lemon juice can really dry out your hair and I noticed you need to reapply a few times while basking for a more intense effect!

I have coconut oil and argon oil. I have a feeling I am going to to have some weird grease hair as I run around the river. Might not look sane.

Do you normally have oily hair? My hair is fine and tends to get oily fairly easy but when I made the lemon spray it actually balanced out my hair pretty well from the lemon drying it out in the sun and the coconut oil+ vitamin e to add moisture. I think you should be fine haha and you would be surprised how many people are into the wild look hah!
