Android Gauss Meter Apps Detect Solely DC Magnetic Fields
Android gauss apps measure DC magnetic fields bcause Androids have a magnetometer. Brad commented in 2011:
"Android phones come with a 3-axis magnetometer standard...The API for accessing the sensors is incredibly simple and great for beginners."
http://hackaday.com/2011/07/14/a-beginners-guide-to-magnetometers/
"Mobile phone sensor can only detect DC type magnetic field, that is the earth magnetic field. When measuring power line magnetic field ( for example, 50 / 60 Hz AC) , the result is not accurate, or even no reading at all."

Two types of magnetic fields
There are two types of magnetic fields: AC and DC (static). "AC" is "Alternating Current" which is the electrical power (50 Hz and 60 Hz) used in homes and buildings, it emits AC magnetic fields.
"DC" is direct current. "A Direct Current (DC) electromagnetic field refers to a constant or static DC electric or DC magnetic field emission which has a frequency of 0 Hz.
DC Magnetic Field: DC Magnetic Fields can originate from natural or artificial sources. DC or "static" lines of magnetic flux naturally emanate from the earth and provide a compass with the ability to indicate "Magnetic North". DC magnetic fields can also be created from a DC power source of electricity such as battery power, solar power and wind power. DC magnetic fields can be altered by iron ore deposits, underground streams and by structural steel in a building. DC magnetic fields are measured in milliGauss mG with a DC gaussmeter."

Sources of DC magnetic fields: magnets, earth's magnetic field, ferromagnetic metals such as "steel, steel components in beds, mattresses, furniture, appliances, building materials; DC current in street cars, photovoltaic systems."

Two types of hand held gauss meters
There are two types of gauss meters: AC and DC. AC gauss meters detect AC magnetic fields. DC gauss meters detect DC magnetic fields.
"Can the AC gauss meters measure magnets or the Earth's magnetic field? No, they do not measure static magnetic fields. Magnetometers or DC Gaussmeters can measure magnets." www.magneticsciences.com/EMF-health/
Measurement Units Conversions
Please write the measurement unit next to the number. Instructions on how to convert gauss or microtelsa uT to milligauss mG is at

Some DC gauss android apps offer a choice of type of measurement. Other apps do not. Some android apps measurement unit is gauss, not milligause. For example, Gauss Meter app by Keuwlsoft. Do not assume measurement unit is mG unless the app specifies as such. If in gauss, convert to milligauss.
Calibration
Hold device horizontally. A different developer instructed tilt the device upward towards the sky. Rotate the device in a 8 shaped figure and then 360 degrees horizontally. Part One: DC gauss meter apps detecting field strength To post reports, use an app that has a data saving option.
(1) 'Thermometer Extended' app. F-droid is a free open source android repository. http://f-droid.org. Downloading does not require a Google account. F-droid has one DC gauss meter app. Thermometer Extended app has several features including magnetic field measuring. Download is at:
https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdfilter=meter&fdid=pl.narfsoftware.thermometer&fdpage=2
'Thermometer Extended' app measures magnetic flux in microtelsa. Convert to mG. To make it simple and to reduce battery consumption, go to settings. Unticked thermometer, relative humidity and pressure. Tick magnetic field.
Tick save data to see history graph. Take screenshots of history graphs. To reduce battery consumption, untick save data when do not need to save data.
(2) 'Gauss Meter' app by Keuwlsoft no1apk.com offers direct downloads without requiring a Google account. http://no1apk.com/Gauss-Meter.html
Option to select G or uT. Please note, this is gauss, not milligause. If select gauss, convert to milligauss. In your report, please specify which measurement unit. Bring up the history graph by clicking on the graph icon which is the third icon on the bottom. Gauss Meter displays present, high, low and average readings. Take screenshots.
Part 2: Directional DC Gauss Meters
Written tutorial and video by TI James Lico on how to use the Ghost EMF Detector app by Hipxel are at:
www.reddit.com/r/Gangstalking/comments/33of39/a_directional_meter_on_your_android_smartphone_by/
no1apk.com offers direct downloads without requiring a Google account. Ghost EMF Detector app on no1apk.com is by Motsha. A different developer. No history graph. http://no1apk.com/Ghost-Detector.html
Telsameter 11th app by SkyPaw Co is better than Ghost EMF Detector. Tesameter 11th app has a three axis history graph and an analogue meter. Option of mG or uT units. Option to email data. Not available from no1apk.com. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skypaw.teslameter Gauss meter apps that offer a three axis history graph are directional meter apps.
Directional meter apps available to download without a Google account are:
(1) Gauss Meter app by Keuwlsoft in part one above has a 3 axis history graph. Press on graph icon to open graph. Does not notify how accurate the sensor is.
(2) S Tools+ is an open source app. Settings/sensors/magnetic field sensor. Has a three axis history graph. Uses uT. Notifies when accuracy is low. Take screenshots to save data.
