Need little advice about cold vape

Question

Hello all,

I finally discovered what type of vape I like most and it's weird one.

I really love cold vape with lot of airflow and still good taste.

My problem is that I have to use low wattage and lot of airflow or it gets too hot for me. Sadly it tends to mute taste.

I countered it with more PG in my juices and now it works how I like but I think I'm missing something out without using high VG juices.

What options do I have for high VG juice and cold vape?

A longer drip tip will allow the vaper to cool down. It doesn't have to be massively long, a bit of extra length can go a long way.

Seems like a length that could already make a difference. I have the impression that glass also cools down the vape a bit, but they have the downside that they're lip gunk magnets. I rock one of these sometimes and find it quite enjoyable.

Edit: seeing the price on the drip tip I linked again made me order a 5-pack...

Then I need to get more then one.

Thanks a lot. I will try out something asap, I currently use short drip-tip. That may be reason.

I love a cool vape. I would rather not burn my throat with 200W. This is why I went for temperature control.

I have two mods with TC. I think I have to plug in my nickel coil and try it out. Thanks. I actually thought that because it's so low ohm I get hot vape. How silly of me, its temperature it controls, I just go all the way down :).

TC and 200W are totally unrelated to warmth of the vape.

Well yes and no.

Assuming a perfect 1 atm we see air density of 1.3 kg/m^3. 1 watt is 1 J/sec. So the heat of air is 716 J/kg K.

I know we are talking about liquid, and I only know water is 4.187 kJ/kgK. I've never measured eliquid and I would assume the blend would vary this.

Temperature control simply uses the power and variable resistance to regulate the air temp.

There are more variables. Atomizer construction, airflow, build, etc. I once had a build which required around 250W, it didn't produce much vapour or heat at 100W. I know a guy who's into extremes, he builds for 300-400W. Such builds are very cool at 200W.

You will only get more cloud with higher vg. I think you will be better off trying high resistance coils with a single coil rta or rda.

Thanks, I'm not really interested about clouds, but there are so many nice juices with high vg content.

Temperature control and a single coil RDA. I'm getting great results from single coil Ni200 in the Hastur, plenty of air, loads of flavour and a nice cool vape.

2

Thanks and Hastur is not even that expensive. I will add it to my list of future purchases.

Getting some nickel tomorrow, will be testing this out :)

If only there was a TC SMPL.

0.15ohm, 9 wraps of 0.3mm tempered Ni200, ID 3mm is working well for me on the Hastur. Been ages since I built an RDA single coil and was surprised how well the Hastur vapes like that. With nickel & TC it's my favourite flavour dripper right now.

I've got a bds90 on a mech pipe I've got and that gives a lovely cool vape.

Haven't seen them made for a while but I'm sure you could find something similar, you'll soon see why it's best on a pipe, 90mm! ;) http://captivape.com/bds90/

I'm not advanced enough for mech pipe yet :). I will take look, just because I have ignored mech pipes for 3 years now and those actually do look cool.

Well that's just the drip tip, it's 510 so it'll fit most atomisers, but it definitely looks more at home on a pipe

Limelight Mechanics make some lovely longer tips as well... http://limelightmechanics.com/product-category/stems/

You could try ordering some koolada and DIY yourself some liquids. You could even add some to pre made juices. It doesn't really have a flavour but it gives a cooling sensation that's pretty awesome with fruits and mints alike. Try it at low percentages first as it gets very cold with RDAs at anything more than 1%

You could also try a drip tip with air-flow control.

could you link example of one? I have seen one atty with "upper" airflow but I think it was not part of drip tip.

There ya go. I've tried these and when I used my other rdas (I only use my velocities now) they were all I used.
