She Shines

I waited in the wicker chair
up against the wall
with the sunlight begging you to
open the door
with your ghost dancing in my arms
and all across the floor
I thought whilst in the chair
and remembered a time where
we weren't so close
but were we ever?
still I can see the color carved cheeks
from your ruddy demeanor
and still I can taste you on my lips
and you couldn't be sweeter
so my mind is churning in this
half forgotten dream
but how real can this be
if you won't come back to me
I'd say our love was decimated
torn by things to me still unknown
and even if you didn't agree
you shone and shone and shone
