Moving to Whitehorse in around 4 weeks. I have a few questions...

Hello. I've just been offered a job in Whitehorse and I'll be moving up there sometime in August. I'm from Vancouver, so this is obviously going to be quite the endeavor for me. I'm still working on getting my affairs in order down here, but I have a few initial questions I could use a hand with. I'm sure I'll come up with hundreds more, but I've only had a couple of hours to think about it..

1. Are there streets/sectors/complexes that I should avoid arranging for accommodation in? I'll be looking to rent an apartment or suite at ~$800 a month or so on a relatively short term, and I know very little about what/where that will get me in Whitehorse.

2. If any of you are gamers, how is online gaming up in Whitehorse? Unplayable pings or acceptable?

3. Anyone who has done this kind of move before, do you have any sort of advice you can pass on to me?

4. Public transportation? Does it exist? I will be selling my car down here before moving up. I intend to buy another vehicle up there at some point, but it's hard for me to say exactly when that would happen.
