TIFU by having huge nipples

At this time in my life I not only lacked the most basic fashion sense, but was unemployed. My mom was constantly on my case about this, so you can imagine my delight when I snagged an interview at my local coffee shop while wearing my usual crappy t-shirt and jeans. The barista liked me so much that she shoved a job application into my hands and got me an interview with her manager the next week. But this gave me a new problem: wtf do I wear to the interview???

I went thrifting that weekend and found what seemed to be the ideal interview dress. It was close-fitting but not tight, slightly more than knee-length, and didn't have a V-neck. I tried the dress out during an outing with friends that weekend and received no less than 3 compliments, so I thought I had truly hit the jackpot.

Fast-forward to Monday morning and I'm sitting down for my interview with the manager at the coffee shop. Rather than asking questions about my past work experience, she is very cold and says something along the lines of how this wouldn't be a good place for me to work. Confused, I got up and left, trying desperately to figure out what could have turned her against me before I even opened my mouth.

That evening my mom came to visit and asked how the interview went. Ashamed, I confessed that I definitely did not get the job. My mom, deeply disappointed, demanded to know what I had been wearing during the interview. "This...?" I said, still unable to comprehend what was so horrible.

My mom, at the end of her rope after watching me fail again at again at something as basic as a job interview, started ranting about how horrible my dress was and finally gave me a clue. "I can see your bra right through it!"

Sure enough, when I went to go look in the bathroom mirror I could very clearly see my nipples outlined through the thin cloth of the dress. Having spent most of my life in baggy t-shirts and sports bras, I'd never considered how wearing an unlined bra under a bodycon dress might make me look like a porn star!

tl;dr: wearing an unlined bra when I had a form-fitting dress on cost me a job
