(Spoilers Probably) Please convince me that Bam isn't cheating

I really feel like Bam using that Thorn weapon is cheating. Unless it's something like "you have to be special to even handle it. A normal person would die"-sort of thing I think it's cheating. So please convince me that it's fair. I don't want to think that it's like cheating.

Edit: This started out as "downvote OP because his opinion is different than mine", and turned into "downvote OP no matter what he says".

This is probably not the best post you've seen here, but at least it's a post discussing something relevant to the story, in what seems like a pretty dead subreddit(due to the unfortunate small number of subscribers). I say unfortunate, because it's a great story with great characters, and don't get me wrong, I do like Bam. There was just this one small thing that I wanted cleared up, but I was met with a lot of resistance due to a lot of fans trying to defend the story.

It was nothing like this the last time I posted, and I hope this was just a bad day. I just caught up, and I look forward to reading the chapter discussions.
