Users with a ThinkPad with Power Bridge internal batteries, how did you fully configure it in Linux?

It seems that sometimes my X240 thinks that the internal battery is charging when the AC is unplugged. And it does not seem to accurately predict how much time I have left on the battery. It often reports 8 hours, which is just not the case on the internal 3-cell. This is happening in Ubuntu 15.04.

Edit, it's also giving the average of the two batteries, which is useless for me. I pulled up a terminal and looked at the battery capacities individually. The internal is at 90% and the external, the one in use, is at 42%, but Ubuntu reports 66% battery charge.

It seems tedious to open up a terminal or battery settings to see the charge on each battery, and I still have no idea how to get Ubuntu to stop thinking the internal battery is charging sometimes.
