T95E2 review.
There are a hell of a lot of medium tanks at tier 8. Many of them decent, some terrible, some brilliant. The T95E2 is… well, I’ll need some more experience with it. This is not so much a review as it is a prediction. Don’t call me Nostradamus, but I suspect this to be a tank that does better the worse your enemies are.
Let’s start with the gun. It’s a 90mm gun that does 8 rounds per minute. Pretty average. The accuracy is 0.36, which isn’t bad, but it isn’t good. It’s average. The penetration is 173/250/45. Average, if not below. The aim time is 2.3s, but the gun handling is poor. Look, the gun is unremarkable. Let’s leave it at that.
The armor is a bit more interesting. It’s 95/71/25 on the hull. That’s not very thick, but its layout is stellar. The upper plate slopes back at over 70 degrees, making most guns autobounce. The hull itself has a very long, flat profile. Not quite a contender with the Object 416, but lower than that of even the T-44. At range, the hull should bounce just about anything if you’re positioned correctly, and they’re not firing from above.
The turret is pretty much that of the M48 Patton. Numbers are 177/76/51. Small, tough mantlet, and a thick but poorly rounded turret face. This is a major weak spot of the T95E2, since most respectable guns will have the pen to get through the areas below and around the mantlet with ease. If you keep moving, though, they will have a hard time hitting those spots. The gun depression is -9 and elevation +19, so you won’t be short on spots to go hull down.
What little I’ve played this tank suggests it will play like… well, a stock Indien Panzer that’s firing 24 karat gold ammo. I doubt you have driven that, so I’ll do my best to summarize. The Indien Panzer has similar armor zones, with thick side armor and a well-sloped upper plate, both fully capable of bouncing poorly aimed shots. These are tanks that you won’t expect someone to be brawling with, and that catches people off guard. Playing peekaboo and wiggling your hull will make you a true pain in the ass to pen.
It does get preferential matchmaking, and the silver earning is stellar. My highest so far is 118k on a 3500 damage game.
This was a hastily written review to kill time. It's probably shit. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
