Planning to start Keto diet soon, wanted to clarify some things

So as the title says, after doing a bit of research on this forum and beyond, I am considering switching to a keto lifestyle. A little about me- I am M/28/5'11''/193lb..but I feel like a lot of my weight is fat. Although I have tried to be healthier for the past year, I would say only during the last month have I really been serious. I started going to the gym 6 days a week, usually doing about 45-50 min of cardio (and burning around 300 calories according to the machine), and another 15-20 minutes doing some quick exercises with dumbbells. I also started eating "better" and making most of my meals at home. atleast 5 days a week I eat cereal for breakfast, have a turkey sandwich for lunch, and this for dinner. The only thing I drink is water (although likely not enough), and my snacks are usually fruit or yogurt. Also I've been using myfitnesspal to track calories, and I would say my caloric intake averages around 1200 (although I am pretty sure its somewhat higher then that because I am eating whenever I get hungry). Although I have lost some weight, it is on average only 1 pound a week, and I felt like I should see more.

After reading through the FAQ here and learning more about keto, I think the main problem I have is I've cut out a lot of fat, but still been eating lots of carbs and sugars. It seems most of the food I'm eating is not keto friendly. I would change immediately but I have a friends wedding in 2 weeks and dont want to be suffering a "keto flu" during it (plus I'd like to eat this food I've already bought now). Since I now have some time to plan, I wanted to get some questions out of the way.

  1. Keto recipes? So I am a terrible cook. At the very least I am very inexperienced. I see the link provided on the sidebar for 6 day meal plans, and I like that I can cook a bulk of my meals at one time, and they don't seem too difficult. I also perused the link for Linda's Low Carb Menus too. Any other suggestions for quick and easy recipes? Specifically what other options are there for lunch? Also what are some good snacks to have (since it seems fruits would be bad)?

  2. Exercise As I mentioned, I have been sticking to a routine of going to the gym 6 days a week, and doing mostly cardio. Is it suggested to continue on that route? In other forums I see keto is usually suggested alongside weightlifting, but just wondering if it works well with cardio too?

  3. Tracking I have been using MFP app to keep track of my calories (although I feel like its been considerably off, unless I am unknowingly starving myself every day). I typically either scan in my foods UPC if it has one, or just search and see whatever I can find thats close to what I am eating. Is MFP a good app to keep track of macros too? It seems I have to get the premium version of the app to do it, but I am ready to do that.

  4. Other Preparations What else should I be ready for? I've read that the first few weeks are tough while your body adjusts to having no carbs, But are there any other common challenges? And is there any other suggestions for things to purchase to help stay on the keto track?
