Small frustration from a practitioner
This is minor, I just want to hear from you guys and see if I'm the only one who has noticed this during class.
At my current studio I have had several teachers use the comment, directed at me, "when you're naturally more flexible.. ." Or some variation of that.
It didn't bother me in the slightest at first. I remember being brand new to yoga (and, sadly, any physical activity whatsoever) three years ago and observing the teachers saying that to other students who were clearly in a much fuller expression of the pose than I was at that time. So, when this was directed at me, at first I thought, "Nice! I'm one of those people I assumed had been a gymnast since they were, like, 8. Making progress!"
But after, about the 4th time I've heard it directed my way for whatever reason, it's getting a little annoying. Three years ago I could barely get my hands past my knees in a forward fold. Natural flexible that is not!
Something that's been on my mind
