I don't know what to do about my therapist

So, I came out to my therapist about 3 months or more ago and he said he knows almost nothing about the transgender community and how to provide therapy for one. He does however have a few other "people with similar issues" I don't know what this means exactly though. One month ago he said he was going to find someone who is an expert or whatever on this subject. After my last visit I asked if he had found anyone, and he said "No, you know who are the experts on this around here, you and me." I feel kind of like thats a red flag, but truth be told I have NO IDEA if there is anyone around where I live that has a single clue about being trans. What should I do? Should I just stick it out and maybe we will get things rolling and I can get on HRT of some kind sometime before I turn 18 or should I try and find someone else? If I should how would I do that?

EDIT: forgot to say I live in southern IL, I doubt I will get any treatment especially HRT because my mom can't go anywhere that isn't covered by the insurance.

EDIT 2: Looks like the one in alton IL is going to be my only option does anyone have any info on the therapist in alton from this list?
