A friend of mine from here in southeastern Kentucky fell 50 feet to his death in Colorado, became first hiking death of the season.

Joseph was a friend of mine but an even closer friend of my little brothers. He was a good dude and it was such a shock to everyone. He'll be missed by more people than he ever realized.

It goes to show that even people who grew up around here and have been hiking a time or two can mess up and make mistakes I suppose, but it's so sad and happened so unexpectedly =/
