Potential abuse for Wolven Hour potion?

When the last patch raised my Griffin swords to level 26, I was able to keep using them even though I was level 25. I stupidly did a fight (it removes all your gear) and found out that I couldn't re-equip. Ok not the end of the world, but CDPR didn't remove "red level" gear that was already equipped when the patch hit.

So, fast forward to Wolven Hour... suppose I make all the mastercrafted gear I am working towards and equip it. Doesn't it seem like I'll be able to keep using the level 34 armor and swords since the game previously didn't un-equip "red level" gear?
